Figured it is time to think open water again, since the 2nd sheet of ice has just melted around here. Anyone getting out?   v~ v~

Mines down for 2 more weeks getting a check engine alarm issue resolved. If you want a fishing fix lets get out on Pool 2

Made it out Sunday for the first run of year. Nice to be crusing on the water again instead of walking on it!  First trip is when I figure out what needs fixing before the season starts! Need new starting battery and fixed some Graph wires so far!

Panfish weren't shallow yet. Actually caught several little bass up shallow. Good to know there are some little ones that will be growing into biguns. Also did some cruising around and marking some humps/rocks and such. Good time to do this before the weeds come up.

Then today, we woke up with 2 inches of snow outside! Crazy weather. Good thing it melts fast this time of year.

Nice,
I got out for an hour or two myself on Saturday. Went into a small shallow black bottom bay. Water temps were only ~53*F, but we did get a couple little panfish.

RuddyDuck

Water was only about 48 here. A couple of times something big swirled at the little fish! Of course I thru my bobber and little jig over there, but nothing happened. I think the crappies are out a little deeper yet. The little bass were within 10ft of the shore. Kinda interesting.

I forgot to mention I went on the river last Saturday. I could only find surface temps 47-48*F, water looked dark from the rain too. My father-in-law had one on but it shook off. Didn't spend too much time out there, it was cold and windy. On the plus side, after a $790 motor repair my boat ran like a champ.

Beautiful weekend, did anyone get out?

The weather was to bad and it was still putting down the last 2" of the 10" of rain that we got and the lake came up over 10' and the water temps dropped from 70* before the rain started down to 55* so no fishing foe me this weekend but looks like you were out having fun and glad your boat motor run great. ~c~

Wow, sounds like you guys are getting some rough spring weather  ~rain. Although, on the bright side it's always nice to see the lakes full of water rather than so low that it makes launching boats tough

Lipripper

This is only the second time it has been like this in the 20 years I have been going down there in the spring time fishing so it's not to bad. We can fish the high water cause we know where and how to catch them crappie when it's like that I'm just waiting for John to give me a call when the water temps get back up in thew high 60*'s again and I will be on the train heading back down for round two  ;D Oh and I see I you reach a higher set of numbers while I was gone and off the site so here these belong to you and keep them coming  ;D

Hopefully I can get 4 more nice keepers for the "May 2017 UB IBASS Tournament"

What a grind for me today.  Got 5 keepers but took me all day and 2 lakes.  Did catch a nice one though

Lipripper

That is a nice one Craig and looks like a great day to be out fishing. ~c~

Nice fish!
A couple of us went out opener. Got about 20 fish between the 3 of us. Most in the 2-3lb range. My biggest was 3lbs. Biggest fish of the day for the boat was 4.25lbs. Wasn't lights out but at least we caught a few. T-rigged creatures saved the day.

In the evening I went out myself to a different lake. Darn lake was chock full of curly leaf and nothing on the deep edge. I found some openings shallow and caught about 25-30 fish there. Too bad the biggest one weighed 1lb 3oz!! lo  Saw some bigger ones, but they wouldn't bite.

Just glad the fishing season is finally here.
