Chasing the spawn again I see. ~b~

If I could get anyone in our club to fish it in the fall that is when I would rather have it but I know better than that. Heck I tried to move it to another location just to try something different and got nothing but hanging lips.

We will probably be there with one of the 500 oilmans tournaments they have but there's no getting around that at least when you have it on Toledo.

I could dig the fall, but hunting season takes precedence I reckon  :surrender:

Heck Jared, when he jacks a 6 lber out of the bushes he'll forget all about it being in March.  lo

Yep. There are few us that deer hunt and as long as its not opening day or prime rut I have no problems putting down the rifle to go fishing. On the other hand we have a bunch of guys that duck hunt and once that is open you can forget it. They wont miss a weekend of duck hunting to go fishing that is a sure thing.

BK this would be amazing!!! I promise you won't forget the experience. And in March!!! Toledo is da bomb!

I bounced the idea off the Mrs. and seemed to get a green light. So all should be good. Only issue is my daughter's 13th birthday is on the 27th.

I need to start looking in to flights and places to stay. Anyone have any recommendations?

How long are you planning on staying?
Ardent Prostaff

Bassinkorea

With work and family commitments, probably a week or so, a few days either side of the weekend tourney. I would like to have a look around some places also, like BPS etc.

Since this will be my first trip to the US, I would like to do as much as possible in the short time I will have.

I will definitely (obviously) be boat-less, so I suppose I first should ask if there are any back seats available for me  lo

Donald, I am commiting myself this time. So unless something out of my control happens, I am coming over. Will be able to get myself those boots while I am there   :-*

We will find you an empty back seat. Let me work on your place to stay. For the tournament we can get you in someones cabin. I'm mainly concerned with the other days you will be here. We will get it together don't you worry.

Thanks Jared, I'm sure it'll all sort it self out, and we have plenty of time.

This is awesome news !!! You provide the dates and between Jared and I we'll provide the lodging and groceries.

Maybe time in Lake Charles before the UBCS and a time in Shreveport after? Or the other way...

As far as site seeing, south Louisiana has more ( the gulf, sea food, New Orleans)!!! Not sure if there is a BPS there but we are 8 hours from the main BPS in Missouri. Depending on timeline and flight data a visit there is not impossible... but we have a small BPS here in Shreveport.

I'm not all that big on touristy style site seeing. I would love a visit to Shreveport and the BPS there. Time will be tight I imagine. Definitely want to try some of the Southern eating though.

I wouldn't mind just going fishing everyday while I am there  lo

Just a thought, but you may want to get Mike to carry you to Caddo lake for a day. Just a boat ride is worth the time, not to mention a better than average chance to catch a double digit bass. I think my Dad has the idea I'm going to manage the farm and he is going to retire on Caddo. He's only been there twice.  ;)

A day in a Legend, a day on Caddo and the chance to catch a double digit bass. Three things that has my attention for sure.

April on Caddo  :shocking:

This past April I caught a 9.82, 7.4, 6.8, and several fives all on a frog all in the same day! We hit it right (weather) it would be a trip you won't forget. We hit it wrong, it will be a trip you won't forget  ~rant dam Florida strains  ~roflmao Russ is correct, just driving the lake can be amazing!

My Favorite run is to watch someone who has never been on the lake tense up exiting big green towards the river and running down government ditch.  That is worth the boat ride for sure.

I just watched a video about Government Ditch on Caddo Lake.  Up were all the Cypress Trees with the Spanish Moss hanging off the limbs looked interesting.  Kinda narrow passage but down by those houses it looked like it opened up a little more.

How deep is that ditch?
