Article I – Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
Camden Bassmasters Club
Section 2: Purpose
To stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major sport. To improve our skills as
bass anglers through fellowship and the friendly exchange of bass-catching techniques
and ideas. To organize and conduct select fishing events and to act as the caretakers of
the environment.
Article II - Membership
Section 1: Number of Members
The club shall begin with and maintain at least 10 members.
Section 2: Requirements for Membership
To become a club member, a person shall:
(a) Voluntarily express a genuine interest in membership.
(b) Be recommended for membership by a member of the club (excepting charter
members).
(c) Be voted on by membership in a regular meeting. Voting will not be held in the
candidate's presence and vote affirmation shall be unanimous.
(d) Be at least 18 years of age.
Section 3: Dues
The club membership dues shall be $ 10 annually and paid on or before
or on being voted into the club.
Section 4: Meetings of Members
The membership shall hold regular meetings at pre-established times.
Article III – Officers, elections, Vacancies and Eligibility
Section 1: Officers and their Duties
The officers of this club shall consist of:
President: Presides over all regular club meetings and directs all official business.
Supervises all club functions. Votes only as a tie-breaker.
Vice President: Assists the president in his/her duties and presides in the absence of the
president.
Secretary: Maintains accurate minutes of all regular and special meetings as called for by
the chapter president. Maintains all member tournament results, rankings and essential
data.
Treasurer: Collects and disburses all monies. Maintains accurate financial records and
presents a current treasurer's report at each regular meeting. Prepares an annual audit for
review by the club Board of Directors. The club may vote that the treasurer and any other
officer handling chapter funds must be bonded
Tournament Director: The tournament director shall plan, organize and be in charge of
operating all club tournaments. Draft tournament schedules and rules, which must be
approved by the general membership. Keep tournament records, enforce all tournament
rules, investigate all protests concerning tournament and make recommendations of the
Board of Directors.
The above club officers shall constitute the Club Board of Directors.
Section 2: Elections
The election of officers shall be held annually at a regular meeting during the month of
January  Election shall be by simple majority of members present. Election for
each officer shall be held separately in order listed in ARTICLE III, Section 1.
Section 3: Eligibility of vote
Each member is entitled to one vote. Proxy votes are not permitted.
Section 4: Term of Office
The term of each office shall be one year, which shall begin on the first day of January and end on the last day of December or until the successor assumes office.
Section 5: Vacancies
In the event of an office becoming vacant, nominations shall be asked for and an election held to fill the unexpired term of the individual vacating the office.
Section 6: Eligibility for Holding Office
To be eligible for an office a member must:
(a) Have been a club member for six months (waived during the first 12 months of club existence) and,
(b) Have attended at least 100% of the club meetings and 90% of club functions during the current 12-month period.
(c) Have shown an active interest in all chapter functions.
Section 7: Removal of membership
A member shall be removed from the club membership roll for any one of the following:
(a) Failure to pay dues.
(b) Any action which would reflect dishonor and disgrace on the club.
(c) Disqualification for use of drugs or alcohol, or continued unsafe boating practices.
Removal must be voted on and approved by a majority of the voting club members.
Article IV: Tournament Rules and Regulations
Section 1: Tournament Locations and Rules
Club tournament locations and rules will be reviewed and amended (see Article V Section
1) as necessary by the Board of Directors. The board will present the membership with tournament locations and rules prior to the first tournament each year and will attach a copy of these by-laws as an addendum.

ARTICLE V – Method of Amending the Bylaws
Section 1: Amending the Bylaws
These bylaws and tournament rules may be amended at any regular meeting by a two- third vote of the members present, provided written notice of the proposed amendment has been presented to the membership at least one regular meeting prior to the vote.
