Given the ridiculous price of glide baits, I'm looking for some DIY advice.   Does anyone have a good source for 2 piece, jointed plastic bodies 7 to 8 inches?  Ive seen some at LPO but don't really see any that catch my eye.
Also, any tips for painting jointed bodies?  Separate or paint as one bait?  Thank You!

Have you tried Jann's? You might think about making your own.

From those I've seen listed on Ebay, I suspect that most you'll find are being produced in China. Not that it's bad thing, but likely is going to limit the possible types for DIY.

Ebay of course is where I would look first. I bought some large Musky size blanks awhile back from an Ebay seller, which were shipped from China, and with the idea of painting them & using them for Striped Bass. I've not yet painted them.  I guess I'll get around to it someday. ::)

That source looks good too. As far as painting them, it might simply depend on the blank. If you can easily take them apart, without damage, that would be the thing to do, but otherwise, painting them as is probably won't be a problem either.

Whatever you do, please post some pics here so we can see what you've done.  :-*
