had to laugh bud.  i still believe that everyone needs to earn their stripes first on a knuckle buster as i did.  they will give you an educated thumb.  there are just some things that need to stay as a tradition and learning bait casting reels is one of them.  stepping right into the sweet reels of today would be like playing basketball and not learning to shoot, but can have steph curry take all of your shots.

and, the old knuckle busters were not named that for no reason ~roflmao.

Great read Bud!! Since I started upgrading my reels and rods I've had less trouble and more enjoyment, haven't even had to use my thumb as much!! ;D
