Had a rough day at work Thursday and needed some ME time so I grabbed my rods and took off to my buddies pond to cast away the days stress.

Flipping a creature bait with the Trapper Tackle hook proved quite annoying as Ive missed a bunch of fish last couple months. Switched to a Gamakatsu 4/0 worm hook and felt confident again.

Put on a NTX Custom bait White Stump Thumper  and a few casts later I hooked this chunk.... made my reel twist in its seat and I got excited!!!! Using Abu Garcia Silver Max reel on Ambassaduer Tournament Edition 6'6" MH.

Upon getting him to the bank I picked him up and knew he was over 5. Just a big fish. The usuall 4lbers i catcglh here are long but not alot of girth but not skinny. Had some sliggr scarring on tail from spawn.

Got him on the scale to see only 3.68.  Felt muchhh bigger.

Took pics and measured for our tournament here and let him go back in for another day.

Had a few hits on a frog but couldnt get the set. Wind was wild too.

Nice fish to help with enjoying your "me time".  well worth the stop
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?
