Well here it is. The Waccamaw heading back to major flood status once again.  This will be the third flood condition in the past four years.  Not sure what this means for the river.  We do know that it takes a long time for the swamps to empty out so the river can return to normal.  Could be a while before we can go out and find some fish.

That's a bummer Bud and hope it don't take that long for the fishing to come back.

Does this river run through town and when it floods does it affect your place?

Donald, the river does not run through Myrtle Beach but it does run through Conway a town just inland of Myrtle Beach.  The Intracoastal waterway does run thru the outskirts of Myrtle Beach.  The flooding does not look to be all that severe and things should be returning to normal in a couple of weeks if another storm does not pay a visit.   The storm is pulling out east quite quickly now and I think that will minimize some of the potential flood problems but it will take a number of days of runoff to really understand what impacts there may be.  The big deal might be floaters that might be found in the river that have come from other feeder streams.
