Anyone have suggestions on where to fish this place from the shore?  Thinking of going there on Saturday and trying to catch me a smallie or something.

Seems like this time of year, smallies are down deep - and Alum Creek is relatively deep (up to 60ft).

What do you suggest to get to that deeper water if I'm stuck on the shore?

It is mid summer and there are two different approaches this time of year.

For a bank fisherman I would focus on the thickest cover close to deep water.

The other would be to fish on deep points in the main lake or other deep structure.

Best of luck.

I was going to give this a try, up by the dam.

Get some tubes, maybe a 1/8oz weight - even considered getting some crawfish for live bait.

They should be there. No need for the crawfish they should eat anything that crosses their path.

Well, went to that exact spot and didn't get a single nibble and lost 3 jig heads.

It was windy, sunny, no clouds.  Threw all along the dam, used 4 different colors of tubes.

It's enough to give a guy a complex.
