Guys and Gals, it's getting that time of year and the staff here at UB want to get everything together fast, but the very first thing we need for Adopt a Family is.....A Family!

For everyone new, Mike will go into the what we do, how we decide part.  But if there is a member, or a members family that is in dire need this year, send Mike, myself or any of the staff members information so we can get going on this now!

It's one of those things that makes www.ultimatebass.com the very best of the best bass fishing forums on the net, it's who we are, what we stand for and who we will continue to be!

So get them nominations in and let us help someone in dire need this year......again!!

Thanks for getting this post Lee... I've got a thousand things going on... But as of now this is top priority.

Over the last 6 years, Ultimate Bass has picked a family to help out during the holiday season. The first couple years it was very easy, we had longtime members that were in need. The first year was a members grandson who was in the hospital needing a heart transplant at 6 months old. The following year a member couldn't get the bills paid and was going to lose their home... As the years went on our UB family has been blessed and everyone is basically health and surviving. So we've opened the program up to nominations.

Two years ago we helped a lady and her two children that lived here in the Louisiana area. She wasn't able to put a Christmas dinner on the table, much less presents. By the time we presented her with the check, she was about to lose her electric. Two years later, that money turned her life around and she has a new job, nice house, and life is going good. My point is that it's not just to give a child a present but our support has changed the entire direction of their lives. Last year our fund raising bought a car for a family in Chicago.

So to nominate a family in need. Put it down in a personal message, give us the who's why and what's going on. Don't leave anything out, people make bad decisions in life that cause some of these issues, we don't hold that against them.

Send your nominations to a Moderator, Community Diplomat, or myself. The Ultimate Bass staff will take all the nominations and decide where we can help the most (so don't leave anything out). If the staff can't decide, we put it on Mother Nature and let the letters pull on her heart strings (so don't leave anything out). If we still can't decide (it's not go this far) we might flip a coin, but make sure your nominee makes it to that point by not leaving anything out....

There is no formal form to fill out, no special writing assignment. Just tell us. You can make it simple bullet format, story format, or formal letter format. How we get the nomination has no baring on the decision.

Include any evidence of their situation, letters from the church or others that know of their situation.

Don't waste time either, we need to get this going soon. The sooner we pick your nominee the more time we have to raise money for them. So start working on it now or put a stick on your computer now so you don't forget.

Great News Lip, your support on this always drives the fund raising up. Just like Jerry's Kids Telethone, but this is Jerry's Family PMathon :-*

I pledge my support again this year.  This project is the most significant thing we do all year and I sincerely hope we can continue to set giving records for someone who needs a bit of a helping hand.

I will be in as always and will start my  Jerry's Family PMathon as Mike calls it as soon as we get the thread up and running. I will be making some post telling the story of how it all went down last year and a little update on Nick and Adriana and the boys.
