Need advice on what you guys use to polish your boat to clean off oxidation, water scum, fine scratches, etc.  I know a variable speed is best.  I was looking at Porter Cable and Avid Power.  Don't want to break the bank for a high end Dewalt, but a good reliable work horse.  Also what cleaner do you use?  I was looking at Meguiars #44 Color Restorer.  I have some oxidation that needs to come off to return the shine to my old boat.  Thanks in advance!

One of our old sponsors makes some good products, look up Pro-Tec. I was turned onto a product called Buff Magic, it works very well.

I don't remember which buffer I have, it's a popular brand but only cost me about $50. It's a three speed variable and it's been great.

I'm a believer that the average guy can get away with a cheap buffer but spend the money on good pads. Take the time to use them properly. It's worth it afterwards.

I don't see the Buff Magic, sounds like they now call it Moisturizer.   It's either that or it was bought out by Shurhold.

Buff Magic is made by Shurhold. Sorry if I was confusing on that.

Yup, Protec products New Paint Moisturizer applied with a rotary low speed buffer. 500 or 600 rpm.

You can buy a variable speed  rotary buffer Harbor Freight for about 50 bucks. Just bee sure it will do the lower speed.

Use the Protec Sealer Polish afterwards.

Orbitals don't work well.
