Met my buddy John at Cumbest Bluff this morning and took his skiff back in the woods for a morning trip. We went to a spot neither of us had been to in probable 20 years but memories sometimes catch fish and today was one of those days. In just over 5 hours we put 22 keeper bass in the boat plus hooking 3 monster grinnel most came on a 4.5 Snagless Sally spinner bait but also on buzz bait and Zoom plastics. This is a creek that you really have to catch the river right to catch fish in, too high and its running to hard, to low and no current and we hit it just about right. River stage was 5.2 at Merrill and 6.3 at the river bridge. Still waiting on my new boat to come in, hopefully by the end of September now so it was good to be on the water again.

They are all "special trips" Lee. Never know when you might catch your last fish so enjoy ever one of them.
