Once again my annual reminder to wear your PFDs at all times.  Cold Water Immersion can kill uou.

As of October 1 a pfd must be worn at All times until April 30 I believe.

I wear mine whenever I am on the water.  The inflatables are light and comfortable.  But consider that in very cold temperatures, the inflatables provide less floatation due to les density in the gas.

In my crazy state they are only required to worn in a boat less than 16 feet and that is only between Oct.1st and May 31st. Speaking from someone who has been in the water in late September, I don't ever want to be in it later than that.

This time of the year I seldom wear the inflatable.  I opt for the standard vest style pfd just for the reasons mentioned by Pat.
