On the water by 7:45 am and out at 2:45 this afternoon, another beautiful fall day with a high temp of 70 and a early morning low of 46. Tides were falling fast until 10:30 and lower than I have seen in some time. Early bite was a little slow picking up a few on T rigged worms  and occasional spinner bait fish. After dinner I got a spinner bait bite going pretty good fishing 5-7' of water in the main creek around scattered grass patches. Ended the day with a dozen keepers and 30+ fish, nothing big just fun to catch. Water temps were in the mid to upper 50's early and low 60's in the afternoon and visibility 2-4'. We have had a good fall bite this year and it looks to continue for another few weeks.

What I wouldn't give for a 30 fish day... Seems like every time I get out I'm lucky to get two bites..

Mike, we really have a very high fish population on the Pascagoula river system per the state fish survey. Nowhere else in the state is even remotely close but with that goes smaller fish size. 20-30 fish a day in the fall can sometimes seem like a slow day but there are days when you think we must have had a major fish kill as well. Per the state electrofishing survey catch rate we had 217 adult bass per mile whereas Ross Barnett was 49 and Picwick was 71 for 2 examples but of course much larger ave. size fish. Love our waters but would like to see some larger average size fish, without giving up all the fun of getting bites, of course.
