Took the Xpress out yesterday for a few hours to check out the fishing after our first 2 nights of freezing temps. On the water by 9 and out by 3, tides very low due to North winds but rising by noon, water visibility 2', water temps 55-57, air temps 40 at 9 and 58 at 3, NW winds at 10 mph and clear skies. Bite was slow as expected but did catch 3-4 keepers on a various baits, spinner bait, KVD jerk bait, Bandit Flat Maxx deep crank and C rig Zoom lizard. C rig produced the most bites and heartbreak, lost 2 BIG fish that just pulled off under the boat. Never saw either but the head shakes and stripping line was a clue that both were very good fish. After the 2nd one came off, I rolled up lines and headed home calling it a day.
Retired and loving every minute of it!
