And no where to go. Even if she's dead in the water doesn't mean I can't keep her looking new, not 22......

That is a really nice looking boat there.  I don't remember reading the posting reference you finding another outboard.  Are you looking for a Rebuilt Engine?

Rebuilt with a warranty. 150hp.
Not trying to trash anyone but it's difficult to buy a rebuild without knowing the machine shop.

I have my name in line for a new Tohatsu/Daihatsu (Honda) 150hp.

Right now I need something set in stone. Its going to be pre-spawn with me outside looking in.

I appreciate it guys, more than you know. Email might be easier.

K9MAJOR UPDATE!

I have the best wife in the world. At dinner she asked if I had any luck finding a 150. I explained the  shortage of outboard motors and I decided to give up on a used 2 stroke. I would be right back to counting on motor I know nothing about. She agreed.

A bit later she asked how much new outboards cost and how much money. Then this happens. "If you can find a new 4 stroke for $15,000 we can afford it, so why don't you start looking....you have the boat looking so good, the trailer rebuilt and everything to update the boat when you sold most of your guns, why not put a new motor on?"
🥲 Yes, the absolute best wife!

Long story short, I found what I wanted and the dealer called me yesterday and told me he had motors coming in shortly, maybe in 2 weeks, but confirmed!

I'm still in shock and still can't help being cautious until they pick my boat up. Good Lord willing the Nitro will be wearing this!

I am not sure if it is in your budget but you will thank yourself later if you upgrade to hydraulic steering with the new motor. Trust me on this you will have zero regrets if you do this.

Why?  My first boat had a 50 horse Force on it and everyone poo-pooed the engine.  Best running I've ever had and never had a problem with it.  Wear the Tohatsu with PRIDE!

Cingrats Gene. Glad you are seeing light at the end of the tunnel amd you are keeping the boat.

Maybe because it IS A HONDA. . Pull the cover and you will find the engine from a Honda accord.

Sorry we were laughing about people that might critique one being better than the other. I was laughing with you! I thought it was Korean last week...Daihatsu and Nissan outboards...both Honda. Now I am about to find out where they are made

All Tohatsu outboard motors are produced in Japan. Here are some key dates and figures leading up to this historic moment for Tohatsu. 1956 Japan's first outboard engine was manufactured. 1988 Tohatsu Marine Corporation was established in Okaya City, Nagano.
