Heck I dunno. Have started doing some Googling as I initially thought "no" but now not so sure. At 14lbs x2 weight is almost nothing. 45ah seems low compared to what others are offering but some do have 54ah models. Will they take a return? At that price I'd be willing to try em!

It's not the same brand, but when I was considering a 24v lithium TM battery, I was recommended to get a 24v 60ah, but at $800 I decided to wait until my regular batteries died.

To answer your question, I am not sure if 45ah would be enough or not.

haven't looked hard enough at the equation yet, BinK, but from a top-view, the numbers seem to play out.  either a 'wash' or slightly better value to have lithium (10+ year lifecycle) vs new gels every few years.

now, if a blue-top optima batter lasts 8-10 years, that math doesn't work.

I dont have that brand but have the Ionic batteries at 50ah for my Ultrex. I can go on 3 regular fishing trips (+/-7hrs. per trip) before i decided to charge. After that 3rd trip, its around 60%.  Now depending on how you fish, depends on what ah battery you would need. I dont fish rivers with current, dont fish with a heavy foot, or fish out in middle of wind on an open lake. My style of fishing allows me to use the 50ah. I do fish club tournements so at the end of a tournement day, i'll have used about 30% of the battery. If you fish harder than i do, you might look at a battery that has more than 50ah's....maybe the 80ah or 100ah range......i talk about percentage use, the ones i run have built in Bluetooth that uses an app so you can tell how much battery you have.

Im running a 36V 100ah Millertech Lithium set up. On a 17 Ranger you will be able to run all day on the 45ah even if you are staying on it pretty tough.

I've seen them mentioned but has anyone actually used the Blue Top Optima?

My Interstates are getting some age so it's time to decide which starting battery will be next.

It's a lot to ask of a starting battery when you ad

Running lights
Trim
Live well
Bilge
4 graphs
Instruments
Heading sensor
Livescope
Phone chargers
Etc.

Maintenance free and built for Baja off road pounding is a huge plus for the Optima.

I am open to suggestions.

I had 3 blue tops and they lasted a long time(4 or 5 years at least) for me and I gave em heck!

Only reason I changed from them is when I went to swap them out the battery guy didn't carry them any more. I asked why and he said "they've changed something with how they make em and now people bring em back 2-3 months later and they're toast" so he was losing $$ on em with all the returns and all. He quit carrying em after that.

I will be checking the return policy. I starting buying Advance for my vehicles because their exchange policy was just that. I had one dump several years in and was ready to go to war over those God awful pro rated no way you get anything stores.

Asked for the receipt, grabbed a brand new battery and headed straight to my truck and snapped it out.
