Maumee River Walleye Fishing Areas (Drone View)

Maumee River is located in the western half of Lake Erie. What is interesting about the Maumee River is that walleye travel from Lake Huron, St. Clair and Lake Erie to spawn in the river. I took an aerial view of the best walleye areas when the water levels were really low. Gives anglers a good idea where the best areas will be during the run.

If I'm not out on the lake I might try to get another view of all the anglers down there when the walleye are running.

The Fort you see at the end is pretty famous for where there was a last stand of solders against the Indians along the river. You can see the way they had their military set up to defend it.

Your right about that! It's shoulder to shoulder down there. I'll be taking the boat out this weekend, but some don't have that option.

Well here is the crazy anglers all lined up on the river. These guys are definitely diehard river walleye guys. Probably blow your mind when you see how many there are.

I remember when I was a kid and my dad and oldest brother would go stay with one of his buddies at Bowling Green and then fish the river for a whole weekend. Remember them out in the back yard when they got home cutting up the walleye they caught, really surprised me later in life that my father would have went up there and fished like that after seeing pictures and videos of them standing shoulder to shoulder like that.

That's pretty cool you remember your dad doing that. I did it too when I was younger, but not anymore. I enjoy my peace while I'm fishing.
