With Fall nearly over - what will be your favorite Winter lures you will be using for bass where you live ?

D.W. Verts

In MO, a jerkbait, crankbait, Hula Grub, and a twister tail grub. And variations thereof (paired with underspins, etc.). If the bass get really deep, a spoon and a tailspinner. It doesn't take a lot of tackle to fish in the winter.

I envy you guys that get to fish year round. We are pretty much all iced up until March or thereabouts depending on how bad of a winter we have.

something not always discussed:  it's still WINTER.  and the longer you live down here, the older you get, the bigger wuss you get.
it's gotten to be so bad that if the temps aren't at least 50°F when it's raining, or going to get there shortly,  I'm not headed out.7 years ago when I moved here, that was still sweatshirt weather.  if the sun was out, it could be shorts too.

this one works well for me.  berkley flatworm on a jighead.

Good point. As I get older it's getting harder to tolerate the cold. If it's windy and cold I don't even want to go outside at all.

Not sure how many more layers I can wear and still move.

It's funny you should say that.  Relocated from NJ to Upstate SC.  It get's cold but not like NJ cold.  Anyway, I was talking to one of the guys down the lake today, I asked I haven't seen him in a while, is everything all right.  He's a transplant from a Yankee state.  He said it's getting too cold for him now.
In NJ, we used to fish Winter League tournaments.  If the water was open, we were fishing.
Baits?  Mid cranks, grubs, buzzbaits

FlatsNBay

Pitching and punching a beaver style bait, casting a Texas rigged Yum Dinger stick worm, a jerkbait in more open water and a fluke in weedy areas, a finesse worm, and a ned rig.

One of Basil Bacon's favorites was the Golden Nugget Double Twin Spin fished on bluff walls. I fish as Dale does with this exception. A bass jig with a foam head, shortened skirt and the smaller Zoom trailer. Fished around brush and docks it falls at 1 ft. / 3 sec.

Here, here!  Or is that Hair, hair?  Anyway, some of us aren't reminded of hair when we look in a mirror. Hair jigs are one of the all-time great cold-water lures.

In Northern California I will the following rigged in my boat:  1/2-3/4 oz football head jig, Ned Rig, Jigging spoon, drop-shot, jerkbait.  I do want to try a hair jig this winter. Alternates are Hula Grub, A-rig, finesse worm on a shaky head., tube.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

definitely going to fish some hair jigs this winter.

along with the usual suspects: jerkbait, shad rap(dont forget about this guy!), crank baits(mostly silent), traps where i can find eel grass with holes, A-Rig.  Try out the silver minnow trick too
