It's been a month since Adopt A Family raffle and a couple weeks since Laurie and I were so blessed to deliver the check to Holi and Cody, and to meet Cole and his sisters in person.
Laure had a hair appointment today, apparently there was a strand of gray but I couldn't see it...
Heather, Holi's mother, says that Holi is slap wore out, Cody is working his tail off with a job and half. Leaving Holi to handle the doctors appointment's take the girls to head start school and manage what life throws at them.
Cole is headed this week to Houston (about 9 hours away) to visit and Optho____ocular _ _ _ some big fancy doctor name word to test his vision, or the possibility of having vision. Apparently they can test the nerve connection and see if there is development, determine what he can actually see, and determine at the current growth rate what he might be able to see in the future.
When we visited with them, Cole's eye's didn't appear to move at all. However if you watched (you can see this in the video), you would notice that one time his eyes would be looking to the left and another time he would be looking to the right. Holi says these are not quick movements but he is looking around. The doctors are just not sure what, if anything, he is seeing. The fear is that his eyes are following sound, which is also undetermined.
Holi said the local doctors say that even if he is seeing and hearing again, remember he was a health baby at one time, they don't believe that Cole will ever understand what he is seeing and hearing. The specialists have different outlooks, not significantly better but better. So between Little Rock Ar., Baton Rogue La., and Houston Tx, Cole gets to see a lot of our country side.
So, keep them all in your prayers. We are praying the doctors find hope that Cole can at least see some of the world we are all so blessed to live in.
I'll try and keep everyone posted as Cole continues down his journey.
