I let a buddy talk me in to fishing the Lockheed Martin club derby with him. It snowed 2" the night before. It was 25 degrees when we got on the water. He has a big fancy Phoenix with a 250 Merc on it. 70 mph at 25 degrees is not for me... My mask came down and I was breathing thru my nose and I swear my nose froze on the inside!!! I had poured a bunch of jerk worms because the week before the fish were starting to get shallow on this lake. As it turns out the cold snap pushed them back out. We wound up catching 7 I think. My three came on a 7" Junebug ZMan worm. Chris caught his on a Carolina Rig Lizard and one on a Jerkbait. We found a small pocket about 20 yds across and 50 yds long that had a blue jillion shad in it. The water was teeming with shad. Bass were busting like crazy and would not bite anything. You couldnt throw anything with a treble hook because it would snag shad every pass. We threw the whole boat at them and got one on a jerk bait. came back twice and tried them to no avail. Fun derby tho. We weighed 5 for 11.23. 17 something won. We got 7th out of 27 boats. Fished really clean and didn't lose any, just couldn't get a big bite. Big bass was only 5 something.

Welcome to tournament fishing. All in all, you weighed five fish!  ~c~
Does your buddy have a dual console or single? I've abused a co-angler or two in my single console Stratos. I've been in that co-angler seat a few times too, but I did buy a Save-Phace sport utility mask that I keep on board for my partner.

It's a single. My Triton is a single also. My Pop sits over there with his head down and holds his hat on with his hand. I always laugh to myself at him.... Not anymore.... ~b~
