Always take energy snacks of some sort when you're out fishing for extended periods of time - when the physical human energy levels decline, the mental aspect follows suit, then you're out of the game.

Always take water on hot, blue bird sky days or cloudless days with high humidity levels - no fish is worth a sun stroke. I suggest re-filling the bottles you get bottled water in, don't fill them to the top because when they freeze the bottles can burst...but, when you're out on the water as the sun beats down on your frozen bottles, it melts pretty slowly and you'll not be drinking more than you should and the other plus is that the water will be ice cold.
