I was watching some fishing videos on you tube and there was mention of the Piscifun carbon X reel as being light weight and tough. I was thinking about upgrading to a better reel and wondering if anyone has tried the Piscifun Carbon X reel. What is your experience with them? Are they worth the cost?

I don't have the Carbon X but I have the Torrent, Phantom and Phantom X reels by Piscifun. They are all decent reels for little $$ but the problem is getting them repaired if you need to. Parts are not readily available to the average reel repairman and getting a reply from support, if you can get one at all is like pulling teeth.

Simple upkeep like oiling bearings or greasing gears is pretty straight forward though. If you need more than that it might be cheaper to just buy another one since they don't cost much.

Just my $.02

I would suggest you buy which ever model Daiwa or Shimano that fits into your budget.

My Wife and I have several Piscifun reels, Torrent, Spark, and Phantom.  I believe they are a good value.  The Torrent is a great entry level reel and works well for a novice bait caster.  It does very well not backlashing.  That said, I have recently bought several new Daiwa baitcast reels.  But I am not giving my Piscifun reels away.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!
