What line do you prefer for your main line?

For me personally it's braid but I know a lot of guys who prefer flouro.

I use braid- 40-50lb normally. Then use 17-20lb mono for the rig.

Mono handles the shock of the braid and I can break it off if needed saving gear.

Sand bottom or brushy, braid.  Rocky or jagged bottom, heavy fluoro...

Dink Dawg

Depends on the species, clarity, depth and structure.

12 or 14 pound flouro.  I use the carolina keepers instead of the ol' swivel and leader.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

For you guys that fish c-rig with braid, what pound test?  If you get your weight snagged, how do you get it loose?  And, is anyone using tungsten weights?

Thanks

40-50lb.

If the weight snags usually hard to get it back. Sometimes going over top and pulling some and going opposite of the snag and pulling works but never know.

I don't personally use tungsten because of snags.

Braid.

nothing but braid.  long casts, no direct contact with bait... I need to be able to move line in a hurry...  keeps fish from swallowing.
in rocks, shellbeds, I have to check the braid at the knot/weight frequently and retie if/when frayed.
