The time has come, and you want to purchase a custom bass fishing rod. In this video I cover different aspects of custom rod building that every first time custom rod buyer should know.

Lots of great information in this one Lou, bravo!!!!

Love the part about boat flipping. More rods are broke because of a failed, or even successful, boat flip. Pulling straight down on a rod tip is not good for them....

Lou, I loved this video.  Some really good information.  I must say your overall presentation and editing is excellent.  I have two Lee Smith custom rods and both of them are spiral wrapped.  One with a wynn grip and one with carbon fiber.  Originally I was concerned that the carbon fiber grip would be slippery but this has turned out not to be true.  Both rods are always in my boat.  A custom rod can really make you spoiled and are just a cut above the average off the shelf products.
On a side note.....some folks don't actually use their custom rods claiming they are too pretty to fish with.  Well, I use mine and they have made me a better angler.

Another advantage for me has been the fact that I can get a short rod that will have the performance to get the job done.  I mostly sit down to fish these days and a shorter rod is easier for me to handle and they fit a bit better in my old Ranger boat with limited deck space.
