With a guide trip coming up for Peacock's, I wanted to get out one last time to button down my game plan. Arrived at the ramp a little before dawn. Made a short run to target some bass before I had to switch gears and target the pea's.

Once I arrived to my spot, I caught a decent bass within my first 10 casts. Caught a couple more smaller ones in very short order. Threw different lures at them, but the bass just weren't having it. Slowed things down, and began connecting again.

I could have stayed with the bass, but I had to figure out the peacock bite, so I picked up and went to fish a stretch where the Pea's seem to be concentrated at.

Started with my usual peacock lures, and nothing was happening. I was beginning to get nervous, when a peacock suddenly swirled hard around my lure. Whew,,, they were just playing hard to get.  ~sweat ~sweat Made a few adjustments, and started to connect with a few nice peas.

With my game plan in place, I called the trip at 12pm. Looked at the counter and was fortunate to land 21 fish. About half and half, bass and pea's.

Thank you for reading!

Good deal! I enjoy the trips when they make you think and figure them out.  Good job on dialing them in.
