:toot:  Welcome to the month of June everyone  ~c~  Here we are 6 months into the year 2023.  Time is moving right along....I hope this new month brings good health and happiness to all of the UltimateBass Members   ~shade

We're having a really pleasant day weather wise so far across Central Texas this morning.  Our forecasted temps are 69-88dgrs with 69%humidity with a S wind @ 9mphs.  We're still looking pretty good weather wise for the next 10days.  There is a chance of a thunderstorm now on Sunday & Monday.  We get these pop up storms all the time during the Summer here in Texas   ~rain :surrender:

Somewhat busy day for me here.  I had a Medical Lab appointment at the VA Hospital this morning.  Beings I'm now taking Warfarin they want a blood test done each week.  So far I'm not having any issues with taking it.  Fixing to head over to Ft. Cavazos Legal Assistance Office to follow up on getting my Will done.

There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day.  I'm taking the afternoon off to relax   :)  This being retired so far is alright   ;)

To everyone have a really pleasant day and hopefully your evening will be a relaxing one.

First day of the month and I caught two fishes. Of course they're tiny, about a perfect size for a small home aquarium, but I don't care.

We're about to go tour Blanchard Caverns, then I'm getting a new hat on our way back to the cabin.

Dog

Well I went and did it december 29th is my last day.
Guess its time to call it quits Tired of the driving tired of the idiots out there while driving and most of all I am just tired.
Guess that happens when you get old.
Donald good idea getting your will taken care of. I have had mine for a few years now and have modified it a couple of times over the years.
Bud I may of missed it what brand of fridge did you get? we replaced ours last year bought a ge had a samsung that was 4 years old and the last year of owning it replaced the ice maker three times got tired of it.
Sch post some pics of the caverns we have some really cool ones out here by me.
Rodney hurry up and get back online.
Tops hope things going good for you.
We did go fishing week ago last monday guess I should upload some pics almost had the lake to ourselves it was nice.

Donald Garner

Dog, congrats on dropping that retirement paperwork   8)  I've had a will for a long time it's a requirement we had while I was in the Army.  I've made several changes to it through out the years.  It was time to update it.

SHC; The catching of the fish is whets important not the size "Sometimes"  Sounds like you're relaxing and enjoying the time with the wife.

Well y'all, I caught myself too. Tiny fly hook right in the calf. Just so happened my forceps were well placed in my belt from the last little fish I caught, so I reached down with them and snatched it out before I got a chance to think twice about it.

I'll post up some pics of the caverns probably later this evening. They were very cool. I've been through them several times myself, but the last time was probably almost twenty years ago. This was Connie's first time ever going underground and I think it's safe to say her mind was blown. Our tour guide was a hoot, he sounded like he was announcing for a wrestling match.

SHC286

SHC286

So when we got to the caverns, you take an elevator down to the starting point. We had two tour guides with us, one leading and one following. So we split into two groups for the two elevators with a guide on each one. When the last two people got on ours, the alarm started going off that we were overweight so they were crammed into the other elevator.

When we were just starting to move someone asked how far down we were going. The guide said 216 feet, and it was almost a full minute ride. The fella that asked looked a little down and said he hated long elevator rides. I pointed out, "well we could have made it there quicker if we'd let them other folks stay."

The guide and I were the only ones that laughed.

Dog

Cool looking caverns.
I would of laughed too after all its just the truth lol.
Have to see if i can find some pics of the caverns by me.
I sure know about the changes on wills had several to make over the years.

Good afternoon from Central Texas  :)

Bright sunny skies are covering down across Central Texas today  ~sun ~sun ~sun  Our forecasted temps are 69-90dgrs with 45%humidity with a S wind @ 13mphs.

Had to make a stop at the VA pharmacy this morning.  The wife was restocking my med containers and I came up short some pills.  She sets my meds up for 3 weeks at a time.
They did a great job of getting my (3) refills done quickly.  I was only there 20minutes and we were out of there ;)

Beings we were over in Temple she wanted to stop in KHOLS to do a little shopping.  She picked up a couple items for our granddaughter and I grabbed a new pair of jeans.  We had lunch afterwards at our favorite Chinese Restaurant > Dynasty <   :food ;PEP)

Made a pit stop and got the Ram filled up for our Day Trip to Fredericksburg, TX tomorrow.  I been wondering what type of mileage that Ram Diesel gets driving around town here.  I kept track of the mileage last week etc. with the fill up today I got 17mpg last week.  I'm going to check the mileage / fuel usage tomorrow during our trip to Fredericksburg.

The Rock Box Theater is hosting Donny Edwards an Elvis Tribute Artist.  The wife is an Elvis nut ~shade  She goes to everyone of his shows when he's in town.  I have to give it to him and the band.  They do a great job of performing Elvis's songs.

SCH; Tks for sharing those pictures with us from the Cavern Tour.  Hope you and your wife continue to have a relaxing vacation  ;)

There's nothing else planned for the rest of the day.  I'm hitting the recliner here shortly.  Y'all have a pleasant afternoon and evening ahead.

Good afternoon to everyone 8)

We started the day off with Loud Thunder and Heavy Rain across Central Texas this morning   :shocking:   Our forecasted temps are 65-87dgrs with 55%humidity with a NE wind @ 5mphs.  We got mostly cloudy skies covering across the area.  Tomorrow looks like there's a chance for rain showers  ~rain

The road trip to Fredericksburg, TX yesterday was a pleasant one.  We had decent weather driving down and back.  We had lunch at Pizza Hut there in town  ;PEP) :food  We've not eaten at Pizza Hut in a long time.  The Elvis Tribute performance at the Rock Box Theater was sold out as it always is.  Donny Edwards > Elvis impersonator < does a really good job during his performance.  The Tribute Band > Fever < does a outstanding job performing also.

Went to church this morning, we stopped by Subway on the way home for lunch.  There is nothing planned for the rest of the day except to spent time tinkering on the computer and watching some tv  ;)

I hope everyone has a pleasant and relaxing afternoon.  For those with the Aches and Pains I hope that y'all have them under control.  Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to get out on the road ways.  Tight lines to those out chasing those Green and Brown fish  ~shade

It has been a cool and cloudy day today.  Temp just now hit 70 but has been in the mid 60s most of the day.  Messed around with the boat for a little bit today and tomorrow I am gonna run it on muffs then take it back to storage before the HOA gets upset about it being in my driveway.

Last Friday got to do a little bowling and the game is still coming along.  I was a bit rusty after being off the lanes for a few weeks but all worked out just fine.  The new replacement ball really rolls nice and actually feels better than the one it replaced even though the are supposedly the same.  The new one just feels better and actually feels lighter but I know it isn't.

I still am a bit weak after my illness but I have returned to my normal activity of mowing lawns, cooking meals, walking the dog etc.  I guess it may take a bit of time to get my strength back.  My breathing is still a bit tough but it too is improving.  This makes any physical activity a bit difficult.

Donald Garner

Good afternoon to all,

Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas are 66-85dgrs with 54%humidity with a NE wind @ 6mphs.  They're calling for some light showers here later on today and into tomorrow.  Other than that we're looking sunny and warm.

It's been somewhat of a lazy day here.  We went for our neighborhood walk 1.5miles this morning.  After taking a break from the walk I had breakfast and took a shower.  Last week I scraped my right leg on the front of the Stratos trailer. I didn't pay any attention to it and now there's a couple of blisters that have formed up.  My wife had to rewrap my lower leg now due to the blisters draining :(
I've spent the day tinkering on the computer watching fishing shows.  Later on I'll be moving over to the recliner and watching tv  ;)

Bud; Glad to hear you're feeling somewhat better and are getting out and about.

I hope everyone had a pleasant day and hopefully your evening will be a relaxing one also.

Been a great weather day today.  Lots of sun and temps up to 84 today.  The morning started at 57 with clouds but by 10 AM everything was really nice.  Got the boat cleaned and returned to the storage lot.  I will bring it home this weekend but I wanted to keep the HOA happy.  I ran the boat on muffs today and like always it ran and started perfectly with a nice initial cloud of blue smoke.  That smell is better than viagra.

Greetings to everyone   :)

We've had partly sunny skies across Central Texas just about all day so far    ~sun   Our forecasted temps were 69-88dgrs with 41% humidity with an E wind @ 7mphs.  Our 10day forecast is still looking bright and sunny.  By the end of the 10day forecast we'll be looking at our lows being in the high 70's and the highs will be crossing over into those triple digit numbers 103dgrs   :surrender:  ~sweat
Summer is upon us here in Texas now  ~sweat  ~shade

Somewhat busy morning for me.  The wife went for her morning walk and I mowed and cleanup the yard. It took me a couple hours to mow and clean up.  We went to Golden Corral for lunch after getting things cleaned up and put away.  We stopped at Walmart on the way home and restocked up on bottle water and diet Pepsi and diet Dr. Pepper  ;PEP)

There isn't anything else planned for the rest of the evening except relaxing.  I got a couple things I need to research on the computer then it will be recliner bound there after  ;)

Bud; Tks for the update.  Glad you were able to spend some time with the Ranger and fire up the Fast Strike  ~bb I still have ya in my daily prayers my good man. I hope your health is improving on a daily basis.  I'm still tinkering with the G3.  I need to check the bilge pump and see if its operational.  I turned it on a couple days ago and I didn't hear it running.  I'll more than likely just replace it as its going on 17yrs now. You and the wife have a relaxing and pleasant evening there.

To everyone be safe in your travels if your out and about.  I hope today was a pleasant day for y'all.

Good morning to everyone  ~shade

We're starting the day off with sunny skies and forecasted temps of 70-89dgrs  ~sun  ;)   We got 72% humidity with a NE wind @ 4mphs.  The temps are slowly but steadily increasing towards that 100dgr mark  ~shade

We got some errands to tend to today once we get done with breakfast.  The wife is going to join a Pilates Class here soon and we need to find the address.   :surrender:  I'm sure we'll wind up having to stop in at Walmart while out today also.

I hope everyone has a Blessed Day and y'all find the time to just relax also.  Be safe in your travels if your having to get out on the road ways.  Tight lines if you're lucky enough to be out on the water also  ;)

Good afternoon to all,

Our forecasted temps across Central Texas today are 67-91dgrs with 39%humidity with a W wind @ 6mphs. We got partly sunny skies for the most part.  There is a chance of a late evening thunderstorm later on.

Busy morning for me.  I had my semi annual dental cleaning done this morning at 8am.  I stopped by the barber shop on the way home for my monthly haircut.  I was the only one there which was a surprise  ~shade  The wife is starting a new exercise program here soon.  We took a drive to find out the location of the place where the program is being held at.  While out and about we decided to stop in our favorite pizza place in Killeen for lunch > Brick & Forge Taproom < they have the Best Pizza around IMO   ;)

There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day or evening.  Y'all take care and be safe out here.  I hope the rest of your day and evening are a pleasant and relaxing one.

Good morning!!! 55 headed to mid 60s, sunny. We need rain, it's  dry around here, indications of brown are becoming apparent in some lawns. I gave the Cruz to the garage my son works at, as soon as it's sold I'll be looking for a boat. My wife has her left hip replaced in 2 weeks, I should be getting injections in my lower back shortly there after. The hip injection is done, been done for 3 or 4 weeks, looks like surgery on the right hip bursa, I've been told it's a short recovery, won't be until I know my wife is up and about on her own. I mow the lawn, in the recliner on a heating pad when done but I'm  getting it done. I still do the shopping.
The gazebo is up and we're  looking forward to the first gathering of the family over some good smoked food, probably meatloaf.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good afternoon to everyone,

Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 74-92dgrs with 45%humidity and a SE wind @ 5mph.  Presently we have partly sunny skies across our area   ~sun

I was going to work outside this morning but a change of plans occurred. My wife was on the computer dealing with one of the accounts we have and there was an issue.  I wound up assisting her with some instructions and a phone call which ended in mission accomplished  ~c~   By the time we got things fixed it was getting pretty warm outside and I didn't feel like working outside then.  I wound up updating my little black book and my quick reference spread sheet instead  ~shade

While updating things I cleaned up the computer also deleting a bunch of stuff that not needed any longer.  The wife fixed a really nice simple meal for lunch today.  We had French fried, smoked sausage links on hotdog buns, sloppy joes and a diet Dr. Pepper  :food  ;PEP)  I'm good to go for a while  ;)

There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day except relaxation  8)

Rodney; I was sitting here just thinking about you and your wife's surgery.  Tks for the update and I still have y'all in my daily prayers.  Hope y'all have great weather for the upcoming family gathering.

To everyone I hope your day is a pleasant and relaxing one.  Be safe in your travels if you have to be out.

Warm sunny day today with humidity at 32% so not bad at all.  Did a fertilizer booster on the lawn this morning since we mowed last night just about dusk.  That job is done for a while.  Went to the lanes this afternoon to bowl three games.  Nice thing to do when it is hot outside.  I really look forward to my weekly bowling and already looking forward to league play beginning in the fall.

Nothing else planned for today but that does not mean that the Mrs. won't pull a honey do addition out of thin air to ruin the rest of my day.

The Carolina Country Music Festival is in full swing with lots of folks in town for the music.  I think Hardy and Tracy Lawrence performed last night, Brooks and Dunn are the headliners tonight, Kenny Chesney on Saturday Night and Miraanda Lambert and Travis Tritt will close the show on Sunday Night.

Each night there are a bunch of other performers all of which are fairly well known just not the headliners for this show.

Donald Garner

Good morning to everyone  ~shade

We got Blue Bird Skies covering down across Central Texas this morning  ~sun   Our forecasted temps for today are 72-92dgrs with 78%humidity with a SE wind @ 11mphs.  It's looking to be a beautiful sunny weekend ahead.  The 10day forecast is indicating 90's > 101dgrs for the week ahead  :surrender:  ~sweat

Finished eating breakfast and got my outside chores done for the day  ;)   We're off to Sam's Club for some shopping and I'm sure we'll be stopping at some other places also.  Other than whets mentioned I have nothing planned for the rest of the day.

Bud; Tks for taking the time to stop by.  I see your busy with outside chores also.  With this weather now early in the morning will be the time to get things done.  Glad to see you're back at bowling.  Have you decided to join a league for the upcoming fall season?  I hope you and your wife are getting to feel better.  I still have ya in my daily prayers.

To everyone I hope your weekend is a Safe and Pleasant one.  Make sure you take the time to enjoy it with your families.  Safe travels and safe boating also if your out and about.

Good afternoon all.  I almost always read these home front threads but I don't post very often because I lead such a boring life that I usually don't have much to say.  But I do appreciate the chance to catch up with what's going on with everyone.

Rodney,  glad to see you posting again. Was getting a little worried about you there buddy.

Don and Bud, you are lucky to have good enough weather to work outside. We are on our 8th straight day of rain. If it doesn't stop soon I'm gonna have to build an Ark lol.

Just have some general housework to get out of the way today.

Josh has been on an early vacation to upstate New York to visit some friends. He is due home later this evening as his train usually doesn't get into the local station until sometime between 9 and 10 PM. It's a 90 min. car ride from his friends house to the train station there. Then he has to get off in Albany to switch trains to Boston. Once in Boston he has to switch again to get to our local station in Quincy and then get a bus that drops him off about a quarter mile from home which he has to walk while wearing his backpack and wheeling his suitcase.

It's about a 10 hour commute so needless to say he is pretty tired by the time he gets home.

Everyone be safe and have a happy and blessed day.

Greetings to everyone,

We've got partly sunny skies across Central Texas today  ~sun  Our forecasted temps are 73-96dgrs with 45%humidity with a SE wind @ 10mphs.  We had a nasty storm front move across the area yesterday afternoon.  There were some 60mph winds with heavy rain and some hail with it.  One of my flag poles is now history.  The wind sheared it off at ground level and made it into 3 pieces. I now only have 1 flag pole standing.  Some of our window screens got some hail damage done to them now.  Other than whets mentioned there wasn't anything else damaged.

Went to church this morning.  The wife fixed lunch here at home from the stuff we bought at Sam's yesterday. We had oven roasted Brussel Sprouts, BBQ ribs, Baked chicken, Seasoned Boiled potatoes with a diet Dr. Pepper  :food  ;PEP)  It was filling and delicious  ~shade

I got some laundry being done now.  Other than that there's nothing else planned for this afternoon.

Jim; Hey buddy tks for stopping by.  Tks for sharing the day with us also.  Hope Josh made it home safely.

I hope everyone has a relaxing and pleasant day whets left of it.  Be safe in your travels if your out there on the road ways.

Good evening to all  8)

Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas today were 74-94dgrs with 37% humidity with an E wind @ 15mphs. We got a Tornado Watch in effect for Central Texas till 10pm.  We get these pop up thunderstorms a lot during the Summer here  :surrender:

Some what busy day for me today.  I had a Medical Lab appointment at the VA Hospital this morning.  Since I'm taking Warfarin > Blood Thinner < they want me to come in once a week so they can monitor and make adjustments as needed.  While there I stopped in and had breakfast at the cafeteria.  I had my weekly ration of biscuits, gravy, hash browns, eggs and bacon  :food  ;)

I spent most of the morning and afternoon working on my new Will.  I had to go over to the tax office and pickup a copy of the Deed of Trust.  This is something new my lawyer told me they just started.  I drove all the way over there leaving my wallet etc. at home  ~b~  I called the wife up and she brought it over to me  ;)   Good thing I didn't get pulled over etc.   After getting my draft done I knocked the wife's draft out.  She's going to proof read it in the morning.  I have copies of other documents that I need to have scanned to my computer and hopefully Wednesday morning I'll send everything to my lawyer.

There is nothing else planned for this evening.  I hope everyone had a pleasant and relaxing day.

Good afternoon to everyone,

Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today were 76-93dgrs with 42%humidity with a S wind @ 12mphs.  Its been partly sunny across the area today and you can tell Summer is already here in Texas  ~sun   ;)

Started the morning off in the DOG HOUSE with the wife ~shade   It took me 1/2 day to work my way out of it.  She bought me a spray bottle of lotion to use when my legs needed the lotion.  She told me make sure that I use a towel to cover the over spray area just in case.  Well at 2am the last thing I was thinking about was that darn towel ~b~   I sprayed my legs and some over spray got onto the computer room hardwood floor.  She was pretty pissed off at 6:30am  ~xyz   While she went for her morning walk I got up and cleaned the computer room floor.   :-*  It only took me about 5 minutes and I was done.  She was still pissed when she got back from her walk ::)

Other than being in trouble right off the bat my day was spent finalizing my Will document.  I just finished sending everything to my lawyer and hopefully here in a week or so I'll have my new Will in hand.  I have nothing else planned for the rest of the day.  I hope everyone had a good day and that your evening will be a relaxing and pleasant one.
