I can't believe my Vexus AVX 1880 is going to be 4 years old already.  :o  In this bow to stern video walk through, I cover the good, the bad, and the ugly of my Vexus boat. Enjoy!

Lou, with regard to the binding seatposts, clean the pin and socket, get all of the lubricants off the pin and out of the socket. Then coat the pin and socket with Loctite 555336 Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant. Cover the post pin with a plastic bag when you're not using it.

Tx Jim, I will keep that in mind next time I use the leaning post. As for the backseat, I gave up on removing it.

I suspect the sea air contributes to the bind.

The posts were very tough to remove from Day 1. It's one of the top complaints of AVX owners.

very common, yes.  personal experience:  YES.

that's the 'worst' I can say about my 1880.

one other comment:  sure wish they'd have upped hull thickness like they did in the 'bigger' models...

Actually, they have. The new 1880's are .125, in thickness.

Good video thanks Lou.  I am wondering that if you were to buy a new boat would you still choose Vexus 1880 or would you got a bit bigger.

Thanks for watching Bud.  Excellent question.  I really like Vexus boats. When the opportunity arises again, although Vexus are great boats, I have my heart set on a custom brand of boat.

Lou, great job on the walk through video.  Tks for taking the time to conduct the review with us.  You got a really nice looking boat there  ~shade

I re-tract my post above, (Post #6) I was incorrect. The 2023 1880 hulls continue to have the .125 transom however, the rest of the hull is not at that thickness. Apologies. The 1980 and 2080 hulls however have been reinforced to .125.

I pay pretty close attention to slight bumps...  try to avoid as much as I can.  getting 'smarter' as a more experienced boater.

this, of course, after I beat silly my old RT 178...

trying to run a 'pretty' boat as long as possible...  lo lo

Great video. I learned a lot as always. It really is a nice comfortable boat to fish out of. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
