Greetings to everyone,

Nothing new on the home front weather wise  8)    It freaking hot here again and will be for a while.  Welcome to Texas Summers   ~shade    Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 75-106dgrs with 38%humidity with a SE wind @ 9mphs :surrender:

Somewhat busy morning for me.  I had a Lab Appointment at the VA Hospital to see the Vampire Team.  They drew 3 tubes of blood and had me provide a urine sample.  I was given my Orange Jug to conduct a 24 hour urine sample also ;)   I have a return trip Wednesday morning to return the 24hour sample back in.  Made the stop at the hospital cafeteria for my breakfast of biscuits, gravy, hash browns, bacon and eggs before coming home.  I was extra hungry this morning I had extra hash browns and bacon  :food ;PEP)

Dropped in at Goodyear Service Center to schedule an appointment to have the Dodge Ram Diesel Full Service Conducted.  I'm having the Low Tire Sensors all changed out also.  That stupid light bugs the crap out of me.  Final stop was Walmart to pickup some items for supper tonight.  The wife is fixing spaghetti and a salad  ~c~

There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day.  I'll be tinkering around on the computer, watching tv and enjoying the AC  :)

Bud; Tks for stopping in and sharing the day with us.  Hope the hot weather there doesn't last too long for ya.  We stop in Dairy Queen every now and then during our day trips up to Waco.  Have fun with the bowling.  Hope you and the wife are finally getting to feel better also.

To everyone have a really pleasant day and relaxing evening once you get home.

Good afternoon to all,

Beautiful Bright Sunny Day here in Central Texas  ~sun  Forecasted temps for across our area today are 69-100dgrs with 22%humidity and a NE wind @ 10mphs.  It's not as hot and humid today as it's been previously.  The triple digit temps continue on for most of the month of Aug.

Somewhat busy morning here for me.  After breakfast I started laundry and went out and cleaned the garage floor.  It's pretty easy cleaning the garage floor with the leaf blower  ;)  I oiled and serviced the garage door & rollers and track while the garage was emptied.  Once the wife returned from her morning exercise class we took the Dodge Ram down to the Goodyear Service Center.  They'll keep it for a couple / 3 days to complete the Diesel Full Service Checkup and Replace all 4 Low Tire Sensors.

While out and about we stopped in at Dynasty Chinese Restaurant for lunch.  We're all done running around for today.  There is nothing else planned for except relaxation  :)

To everyone hope your day is going well and the evening ahead is going to be a relaxing one  ~shade

Good afternoon to all  8)

Blue Bird Skies are all across Central Texas today  ~sun   Our forecasted temps for across the area are 71-101dgrs with 23%humidity and an E wind @ 4mphs.  It's a pretty nice morning to be outside so far.

Busy morning with a trip to Goodyear Service Center to pick up the Dodge Ram.  A full Diesel Service was performed, the 4 low tire pressure sensors were replaced.  Stopped by a the ATM picked up some cash and headed over to the VA Hospital to turn in my 24hour urine sample.  Paid my med's bill while at the hospital and had breakfast to boot ;PEP)  :food

Made a quick stop at another bank to pay a bill and final stop was at the Dodge Dealership in Temple.  I ordered the Driver's Seat Power Selection Switch last week.  The old one was damaged and not functioning properly. It took me all of 5 minutes to replace the switch once I got home. There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day here.  I'm tired and going to relax  ;)

I hope everyone has a pleasant Wednesday.  Y'all be safe in your travels today.

Same ole weather conditions Hot with Blue Bird Skies  ~shade   Our forecasted temps for today are 77-107dgrs with 33%humidity with a SE wind @ 9mphs.  There still isn't rain in the monthly forecast as of today  :surrender:

After fixing breakfast this morning for me and the wife it was onto house cleaning duties ;PEP)  :food ~sweat   I vacuumed all the  3 bedrooms with carpet in them.  I cleaned the family room, living room, kitchen floors, computer room and the hallway that has hardwood floors.  I had to vacuumed then run the wet swifter mop over all the hardwood floors.  I knocked this out while the wife was at her Pilates Class ~bb

There is nothing else planned for the day except relaxation  ;)   I hope everyone has a really pleasant and relaxing day today.

Weather has been much improved the past two days.  Temps in the low 90s or high 80s for the daily high and the humidity has dropped quite a bit making it easier to take the warm weather.  We have been getting the evening pop up rain and that helps cool things down a wee bit.

Mowed the lawn yesterday so I could have today to myself.  Went for a hair cut to my regular shop located in mid town Myrtle beach.  Been going there for almost 30 years.  During tourist season I try shops down on this end of the beach to avoid the crowds of uptown.

School starts on Monday and for the most part the crowds are gone from the area and the beaches look a lot less busy.  Most folks have returned home to get ready for the start of school.  Maybe now we can actually get into a restaurant without waiting in a long list.

Was thinking about going bowling today but decided to hold off until tomorrow.  I will bve trying a different bowling alley this time and am looking forward to the change.

Good afternoon to all,

Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 77-107dgrs with 17%humidity with a S wind @ 8mphs.  Lot of Blue Skies showing across our area today  ~sun

Fixed breakfast this morning  4 egg veggie omelets, shredded cheese with turkey sausage, toast, tater tots, butter and jelly with black coffee  ;PEP)  :food    After cleaning up the breakfast dishes we headed of to Kohls for the wife to do some shopping.  I stayed out in the truck and played on my phone for an hour and fifteen minutes  ~shade   There was nothing in that store that I needed or wanted to look at.

Stopped by the post office on the way home and checked the mail.   My new drivers license finally arrived they're good till Jan 2032.  The new G3 Boat registration stickers came in and are good till Aug 2025..

Lake Belton High School Varsity Football Season Tickets go on sale tonight.  I'm heading over to the stadium at 8pm to pick those up.  Other than that there isn't isn't thing else planned for the rest of the day.

Bud; Glad to see ya on line buddy, I bet the traffic will be much less now that the tourist season is over with.  School has started back here also.  It started this past Wednesday.  For us working outside in the yard is all on hold right now due to the weather.  The grass isn't growing nor are the weeds due to the drought conditions  ~shade   We're under Water Usage Restrictions now from the water company.  The only time you can water your lawns is on certain days and during the hours of Midnight and 10am.

We don't water our yard to start with and the wife uses Rain Barrel Water to water what plants she has.      Just about all her plants are Texas Native so they're used to the no water and extreme heat. Both of her rain barrels are full to the rim with water.  Hope you get the chance to try out a new bowling lane soon.  I don't even know if we have any bowling alleys in / around our area :-\

To everyone hope the day has been a pleasant one.  Hope your evening is a relaxing one as well.

Greetings to everyone 8)

We got hazy skies across Central Texas this morning.  There are numerous Wild Fires that's going on around our area that's causing this haze.  Our forecasted temps for our area are 79-107dgrs with 28% humidity with a W wind @ 5mphs.  There's still no rain in the upcoming forecasts for the month of Aug.

:surrender:   We're very much in a Drought Situation here across Central Texas.   I was reading the news paper and they reported that Belton Lake is 16.17ft below Summer Pool.  Stillhouse Lake is 16.72ft below Summer Pool.  The wife and I drove over to Belton Lake yesterday around the Cowhouse Creek Area.  Sad state of affairs is all I can say.  Wow, the water line in some places is several hundred yards from the original bank line.  Some of the boat ramps on both lakes are closed due to hazards > no water to launch into   :'(

Nothing much happening around here today.  I attended church on line this morning.  We might go out for lunch / dinner later on maybe.  ~shade

I hope everyone has a pleasant day today.  Be safe in your travels if your having to be out.  Be mindful of the weather around you also.

Not so busy here this morning.  I fixed us breakfast of fried eggs and fried hotdogs  :food  ;PEP)   Got the laundry going while I'm tinkering on the computer.  I'll be heading to Walmart after the laundry is done to restock up on bottle water.  After that I'll be back home relaxing and enjoying the AC.

Good afternoon UB,

Rough night for me last night with very little sleep.

Weather is nice today with temp at a high of 84* and mixed sun and clouds. The humidity is low and there is a gentle breeze so it is very pleasant with the windows open.

Was a bad night for both myself and Josh. We had a bit of an incident a little after midnight last night that has us both on edge. Management for the building is on vacation again so we can't report it until they come back next week.

In a nutshell FedEx had delivered our cat's food and litter order around noon yesterday but I'm having back issues and I couldn't go out to get the huge box. Josh has been a big help but it has messed up his sleep schedule too so he didn't wake up until after 11:30 last night.

After taking some time to eat Josh took our hand truck and went out to get the box and there was a guy outside the security door. He saw Josh and started rattling the door and yelling to let him in. Josh ignored it and loaded the box on the hand cart. As he was doing this he noticed a second guy at the side security door who started rattling it and yelling to get in. Josh did not make eye contact with either. When he got back in the apartment and locked the door he listened at the door for a minute.

Apparently they got in the building somehow and they were yelling threats at "the long haired white boy". We live in a corner apartment and are the only apartment on that turn of the building so they know exactly which unit Josh went into and they made sure to point that out in their threats.

Can't really call the police for something like this. So between the pain and discomfort from my back and the worry over these people potentially doing something more Josh and I got almost no sleep.

We used to have drug deals and in incidents of guns being drawn but it seemed to have been cleaned up for a long while until this new company bought the building a few years back.

I guess it's part of the price to pay for inner city living. I really wish Eileen had listened to me all those years before she passed when I practically begged her to move.  I'm too old and broke down for this sh*t now.  Unfortunately, between health issues and lack of both funds and family to help it looks like I'm stuck where I am at least for awhile.

Thanks for letting me vent a little guys.

I hope everyone has a great day and good luck if you get to wet a line.

I really tired of being trapped inside during this dang heat wave.  It has been at or near 100 degrees for quite a while now and I am sick and tired of it.  For those of us that also have some COPD issues this heat and humidity makes things really uncomfortable to include having a negative impact on sleeping.  Last month the A/C bill was a record high and this week we should be getting a new bill that would not surprise me if this will be the newest all time high bill.

At least I can get to the bowling lanes once in a while but that is about all.  It has been too hot to mess with the boat.  Lawn maintenance still has to be done so I have to do it very early morning with the dew still on the grass.  Once you get past 10AM it is just too hot to be out there especially when you are an old geezer like me.

Donald Garner

Good morning to everyone,

Yep another Texas Summer day of 100dgr (+) weather  ~sun  ~sun  :surrender:   Forecasted temps for across our area are 76-103dgrs with 43%humidity with an E wind @ 10mphs ~sweat   There's still no rain in the monthly forecast as of today.  There is that weather front moving towards the SE coast of Texas out of the Gulf of Mexico.  If it continues we might get some outside chance of rain from it.

Pretty much a do nothing day here.  I'll spent the day tinkering around on the computer etc. and watching some tv.  There's nothing work wise needing to be done outside.  The grass is all burned up and nothing is growing.  The wife hand waters her plants using rain barrel water when they're scheduled.  Most of her plants are Texas Native Types which are used to High Temps and low water.

Smallie; Glad to hear nothing happened to you and Josh reference those outside individuals gaining access to the bldg.  I have ya in my daily prayers and hope that you get to feeling better soon.

Bud; I hear ya reference being trapped in this heat  ~shade   I went down to Belton Lake (BLORA) just to see if they were still open.  They have closed one of the boat ramps due to lack of water and the hazards of the boat ramp.  The beach is still open but I wouldn't be out swimming there.  The actual beach itself is several yard from the water line.  I was told they closed closed the marina down and had all the rental boats removed due to the low water in the cove the marina sits in.  From reading the fishing reports the water temps are ranging 86-89dgrs and its 17ft below Summer Pool now.  Stillhouse lake is at 18ft below Summer Pool and water temps are 86-89dgrs also.

All of the areas that I fish on those lakes are all DRIED UP NOW.  I think tomorrow I'll drive out and take some pictures of both lakes.  It's really sad seeing these lakes look like this.  But living here in Texas there seems to be a cycle of drought and flooding.  I remember back in 2007 when it rained and rained a lot of Central Texas Lakes were closed due to extreme flooding.  We'll see if this pattern continues.

To everyone I hope y'all have a really pleasant and relaxing day and evening.  Be safe in your travels and be mindful of your surroundings.

heat is back, as it is for everyone.  Its not quite as humid as it has been.  Next week though, it is supposed to be in the 80's again so another fake fall  ~roflmao.  Better than 95 though.

This weekend I cleaned up the dirty bird, she was literally dirty!! Looks sharp again.  Also installed a Garmin 126sv along side of the Helix G2. The one cable sure was a tough SOB to do by myself, even with a fish tape.  Dad offered but he was recently sick and I didnt want to expose him to dust etc.  The Helix transducer was starting to act up, but i still like the lakemaster mapping.  Mounted on a precision sonar dual mount for the console.  Using the helix for mapping and the garmin for everything else.  Also, i can share the livescope now from the front.  I would have to point where I am pointing with the scope or the person in the back follow my casting lead.  I dont mind doing this at all for someone in the back.

This side scan on the garmin is something amazing!! Also bought a trick step, this old man needs help launching and recovering by myself.  Trick step is great, and they do give a military/veteran discount

Smallie: I wish there was a better answer for you, just stay vigilant any way you can.  Have a tactical plan in your mind -- i hate to say that but.....

Bud/Donald:  stay cool, this heat sure is tough

Good evening!!! Weather has been great, nice having a cool summer for change. Last Wednesday was the last day for my pain mess, it slowly became miserable, don't want to do this again. Tomorrow is the big day, surgery at 8:30, need to be there at 6:30, Doctor was saying I might go home tomorrow but I don't see it. I have to be cleared by pt before that happens, it might but I hopenot. My wife has enough to do going back and forth then getting stuck with me.
Hope y'all are good, see you on the flip side.

Good morning to everyone

Forecasted temps for across our area here today are 78-102dgrs with 59% humidity with a SE wind @ 7mphs.  For the most part the wild fires we had surrounding our immediate area are all under control now.  The skies are bright blue and very sunny  ~sun  ~sun

We're off to the mall over in Temple here shortly.  We'll have lunch out somewhere later on. There's nothing else planned for the day except tinkering on the computer and watching some tv.

Rodney; Got ya in my daily prayers my good man.  Hope your surgery goes as planned and the recovery is fast.

Caddyjoe; Sounds as if you've been busy reorganizing the electronics in your boat.  I've been wanting to get a Trick Step for my Stratos and it's still on my bucket list.  Have fun getting everything redone in the boat.

Finally a really nice weather day today.  Highs today of 85 from a low this morning of 70.  Low humidity also arrived overnight.  Tomorrow is supposed to be the same thing until the heat and humidity return beginning on Friday lasting through the upcoming weekend.  May get some rain on Sunday if we are lucky.

Had my 6 month medical check up today and all is well and that is good news given the events of the past month with the pneumonia.  Still not sleeping the best but getting enough to get by.  All my numbers are very good and the weight came in at 175.  I should be a bit less but at 77 years old I'll take it.  I have to remind myself that when I retired 13 years ago I was 234.  I have a whole closed full of clothes from that time and just can't bring myself to throw them out and go buy some new stuff.

Good after noon!!! 73, cloudy, looks rainy. I got home from the hospital, several hours ago. There's quite a bit of pain involved. Woke up 8 or 9 times last night to pee, funnies. I'm able to navigate a bit, but it hurts if I move the wrong way, that'll end eventually. I passed PT with flying colors so I was released. I'm on deluded for pain, we'll see how that works.
Got the measurements for my boat to start planning what I'm  going to do, it's simple but should work well.

A bit warmer today but mostly cloudy so not too bad.  Current temp is 90 with a westerly breeze at 5-10 mph.  Danger hot weekend is forecasted before some relief next week.  Possible tropical development in the gulf just may bring us a little rain if we are lucky but it is too soon to tell if and  how much to expect. I think it is forecasted to remain as a tropical storm and not reach hurricane status.

Trimmed the lawn this morning after mowing yesterday.  The heat has not been kind to the lawn and the actual grass is going dormant.  The only thing growing and green are the weeds.  Kinda normal for our summer lawns anyways.

Planning on some bowling this afternoon and then maybe swing by the grocery store for some provisions.  Sure happy to be bowling as it provides some activity to get me out of the house especially in this hot weather.  The game continues to improve but still has a long way to improve.  I guess one should not expect too much too soon especially at my age.

Oldfart9999

Good morning!!! 67 headed to 73 or so, partly cloudy. So much good weather and trapped at home. Ugh!!!  Came home Thursday, rough day, I passed PT, and they sprung me after some ball busting, at least the staff could put a smile on my face. The Doctor swung by and asked me how I was doing, told him mean, rotten miserable, ornery and cranky, my usual self, he chuckled,  he told me he was going to take good care of me and he did. I'm doing much better in the pain department, decided to stay in the recliner for sleep, during the day I make it up to the bathroom,  not too bad to do so and keeps my legs going. I had to make a change in my pain meds, I had delauded but it was making me dizzy and giving me the shakes, I'm now on oxycodone, it's not as bad and if I need it it's every 6 hours instead of ever 3 which is much better, I really don't need it that much. I'm hoping that in another week or so to be off the opiodes altogether, hate them, but they sometimes are needed. I really wish I could get to work on my boat, with all this great weather, I'd like to be on the water. Hope you guys can get out soon!!!

Greetings to all,

Another beautiful Hot Texas Summer Day  ;)   Forecasted temps across our area are 81-107dgrs with 19%humidity with an E wind @ 6mphs  ~sun   ~sweat  :surrender:   Lots of sun and still no rain in the upcoming forecasts  :(

We went to the movies this morning and just got home an hour or so ago.  We're relaxing in the AC and tinkering on the computer.  The wife is taking a nap in her recliner  ~shade   I hope everyone is having a pleasant Saturday so far.

I got an really good report from my kidney doctor yesterday.  There has been improvement in all areas of my issue.  The Blood Pressure is well with a safe limit, fluid retention issue has been figured out and med's are being provided to deal with that issue.  So far I've lost over 64lbs of fluid since 6th of July.  I have more movement of my knees but still have some swelling in the calves and feet area.  Considering everything I'm doing a heck of lot better now than 4 months ago.  I'm pleased with the progress and the way my doctor has handled my situation.  We're still vertical and breathing and that's important.  My goal is to be back out on the water next Spring...if things continue to improve health wise we'll be there  ;)

Rodney; My good man glad to hear your being active right after the hip replacement.  Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Bud; Lucky you...getting to mow and trim lo  I haven't had to fire up the mowers or weed eater in what a couple months now.  The grass is as dead as it can get  ~shade   Hope you continue to improve that bowling game you got going on now.

Good afternoon to all,

Forecasted temps for across Central Texas are 77-106dgrs with 18% humidity with a NE wind @ 8mphs.

Attended church on line this morning.  We're spending the day doing laundry and just taking it easy.  There is nothing else planned for the rest of the day.  The wife is starting to prep for her trip up to Anchorage, Alaska on Thursday.  She's going to be gone for a week visiting our grandkids.

I hope everyone has a pleasant and enjoyable Sunday.  Be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.

Nothing much going on today.  As usual it is a hot day with actual temps in the mid 90s and heat index of 105.  Just staying inside and messing with the computer and the bowling stuff.  Was considering going bowling but decided to just stay home for the day.  I did go to Walmart a while ago to pick up some prescriptions but then went straight back home.

It looks like we could get a bit of tropical storm action on Thursday.  Not expected to amount to much but we do need some rain.  Forecasted track indicates that should happen but I notice they keep adjusting the track to be just off the coast instead of making land fall.  The storm looks like it is moving the high pressure out of the way that will allow temps by weeks end to start to drop to some low 80s for a high and low 60s for the lows.  Sure hope that happens.

Donald good to hear your medical conditions are coming along nicely.  I know it has been a long road but it sounds like you are over the hump.  Now you need to start a rain dance program down your way to fill up those lakes and cool off your temps a bit.

Capt Steve congratulations on the new boat and truck.  Last year you were starting to think about retirement.  Did you do it or are you still working.

Rodney, per your reports things are doing well.  Hopefully you will break that nasty habit of annual surgey events and take some time to get your boat equipped for next spring.

Donald Garner

Good morning to everyone,

It rained here yesterday afternoon for about 30 minutes.  We had some thunder and wind along with the rain  ~shade   The forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 73-96dgrs with 59%humidity and a NE wind @ 9mphs.  That front that came through yesterday afternoon sure has cooled things down a little bit.
We still have a few days left of the triple digit temps.   But it's looks to be cooling down the first part of next month.

Shopping day today once the wife returns from her exercise class.  She be preparing my meals and start to pack her bags for her trip to Anchorage, Alaska on Thursday morning.  She's fired up and ready to see those grandkids.

While driving the diesel on Saturday the darn Check Engine Light came on.  I can't catch a break with that truck.  I just got it out of the shop after having a Full Diesel Service performed.  I had the low tire sensors replaced on all 4 wheels also beings that warning light was on all the time.  I talked to my daughter on Sunday and gave her the bad news.  I suggested that she trade that truck in once she gets back home. I'm going to have to make an appointment with Goodyear to have it checked out.  More $$$$ spent I could be spending on something else >:(

There's nothing planned for the rest of the day after the shopping has been completed.  I had to tinker the ROKU remote control and Firestick yesterday.  The remote wasn't operating properly  ~xyz   I unplugged the ROKU device and plugged it back in and like magic things started working properly  ~c~

Bud;  Tks for stopping by.  Glad to hear that its cooling down there somewhat.  I hope that weather front doesn't change course and cause any damage to your place.  Yep I feel that I'm getting over the hump with my medical issue.  I sure hope so I would like to start enjoying my retirement a little better.  Weather wise its going to take a whole bunch of nasty weather here for our lakes to fill back up.  They're forecasting for us to have a real hard Winter this year.  We'll see what happens.

To everyone I hope your day is a productive one.  Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
