Minn Kota Lockup FYI

I have a Minn Kota Ultrex 80lb.  While fishing the entire unit froze up.  Couldn't make a turn and the prop did not turn.  Had to replace two boards but when out on the water again the unit would intermittently freeze up again.  This time, however, the prop did turn.  Another board replacement but that did not fix the problem.  It was then discovered that my batteries although showing 12 volts were not putting out enough current.  Apparently, the Ultrex is very sensitive to the operating current level.  Replacing both TM batteries solved the problem.  Whether the third board was necessary is questionable.  Replacing the first two probably was necessary.

Tks for the update.  Replacing those boards were they under warranty?

Ouch. I need to replace the switch on mine (stays on constantly and won't turn off), but so far no major electrical issues.

Do you think the batteries might've caused the boards to go out or do you think they were separate issues?
