I have been a hold out on the forward facing sonar stampede until today. I installed Active Target that I have had since they came out. Tried it out for a few minutes and it appears to be working as it should yeah! Installation or anything requiring a tool is not my forte. Now to learn how to drive it.  LOL This week looks to be near perfect to be on the water.

It takes some "seat time" to learn what you're seeing on the screen. I got Livescope back in March, and I'm still learning how to tell what's what. It's easy to see fish and know they're fish, but it is harder to know what kind of fish you're looking at. It's one more tool in the toolbox.

Congratulations, can't wait to see what you think about it. I've had it for a while and just starting to learn what's what. Like J.W. a fish is easy to tell but what kind and if it's worth the time is another thing...

I caught a nice 4 plus lb largemouth yesterday in 25' of water on a drop shotted flatworm. Expected a 2 lb smallmouth before I casted. Not that different than 2 D sonar video fishing except you see the fish before it is straight down. I had AT set for forward 40'. Biggest hurdle for me will be pointing it and keeping off the tm. I caught fewer fish yesterday than I would have because I was determined to fish fish I could see. White perch though were on fire lol
Going to try a big flat 10'-12' tomorrow.
I did take a minute to look up and notice how pretty the lake was. Snow on Mt Washington  in back ground

Worst thing about FFS is you see all the fish that aren't biting. Like Mike said, sometimes you have to make the call as to whether they're worth your time or not. Or do like I do and convince yourself you're looking at trash fish if they won't bite lo

Going to Cornwall to fish below the lock for walleye in a few weeks. Should be a good tool there.

Oh man that will be great.
I was on Georgian Bay two days ago dropping down on 4&5lb smallies in 30-50 ft of water.
I really should do a post about this
