Out again today but with better results than yesterday. My buddy John met me at the marina at 7:30 this morning rather than me running 1/2 mile up the bayou to pick him up at his dock and we headed south to the lower marsh.  Doesn't happen often that I spank his butt but today was my turn. John is very good with plastics and in particular the Zoom UV speed worm and he put the first few in the boat but then my spinner bait took over and I  put 8 keepers in the boat to his 3 plus we probably had a dozen short fish on the day. The fish were mainly on the outside edge of the grass line in 3-5' of water and in the bigger sections of her bayous rather than in the backs of them were we normally catch them this time of year. Air temps from 56-75 with mostly cloudy skies, water temps 62-66, visibility was 2-3', and tides rose all day again aided by a S wind of 10 mph but was still not out into the marsh when we left the lower marsh around 2. My old favorite the chartreuse/white Snagless Sally and a War Eagle finesse spinner worked for me and John caught his fish on a Junebug/red UV speed worm but he could not get a bite on a spinner bait. All in all a fun day with an old friend, don't get any better than that.
Retired and loving every minute of it!
