They make stuff for repairing fiberglass pools.  It is called A+B Epoxy Putty.  It is $15 a pound and all pool supply stores carry it.  Comes in two sticks and you pull off even portions of the A stick and B stick.  Work it together for 10 minutes.  Consistency of hard Play-Doh.  One package will fix a really large gouge.  Like 1/2" deep, 1" wide, and 2' long.

This stuff dries underwater in an hour, and trust me, the only way it is coming off is with a chisel.  It is tough.

A box of this stuff can save your trip.  You'll still want to get a permanent repair, but this stuff will stick to fiberglass, underwater, harden HARD, and last for many months.

The early bird may get the worm, but it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.
