water temp 61
water was clear
wind from the south at 5-10mph

Fished from 10am to 430 pm.I was really lookong forward to fishing Konawa for the first time.Konawa is a lake owned by Oklahoma Gas and Electric and is used to cool down the plant. It has for the last few years ranked number one in Oklahoma for numbers of bass caught in the spring electric shock survey done by the Oklahoma Wildlife Department.Today just wasn't a great day for me,but I did manage to catch one keeper on a crankbait in one of the weedbeds.Looking forward to going back next week and giving her another shot.

Hi Barney I have not fished that lake but have always wanted to is there easy access to the lake and are there any boat ramp fees...I read where you talked about the weed beds are there any wood to fish around and how deep is Konawa .......

Topcat the lake is easily accessible. There are three ramps, one on the southwest side, another north of the dam and I think that there is one south of the dam. There are no ramp fees. The average depth of Konawa is 17 feet but around the dam it's as deep as 50 feet.I covered most areas of the lake and saw very little wood, just a couple of laydowns, but also saw some brush on sonar in a few places. If you look at this site here it has a few pics of the lake http://www.konawa.k12.ok.us/community/lake/lake.html.Hope this helps you out.
