I had decided that I was going to fish North Sterling last Sunday (April 7th) so a friend and I drove up on Satuday night in some not so great weather to find, not surprisingly, an empty campground. We woke to some wind and cold but the snow had stopped. We put in around 10ish and fished along the face of the dam. There were fish but nothing interested. I suppose some may be female walleyes that just weren't interested. After a break we fished the inlet. The water was very dirty and only 39 degrees. We also fished up at the end of the northern arm and around the island. The water was only from 39 to 45 degrees so the cold snap has cooled the water a bit. We didn't have any luck with the fish on Sunday but it does look like it could be a promising lake as I had never fished it before.
Good Luck to all.
