Does anyone close to the OKC area have any private land me and my wife can bow hunt on ( I ONLY BOW HUNT) ?  I just transfered to tinker airforce base about 5 months ago and really havent made any friends that can help me with my hunting land issues  ???  My wifes new to the sport  and i really would like to have more secluded land away from a bunch other hunters.  If some one who has land and loves to fish with out a boat , i would love to take you out bass fishing on my boat. Private land is hard to find to hunt unless you're ready to drop some dough. You might get lucky and find someone willing to let you and your wife hunt. I wouldn't bank on it though. A lot of landowners who would let hunters hunt got or get burned one way or another being nice and letting people on there land. So for most of us who take care of a persons land and hunt by the book are paying for the ones that have no respect for the sport or the land they hunt on. There is a lot of CRP land, and public hunting around many lakes which have quality deer. The one that I hunt is the Waurika wetlands units, lots of deer and if your patient you can shoot a wall hanger. I'm sure you can google public hunting in Oklahoma and get more results than you can go through. If your wanting private land only I'm sure I can help you track down a lease if your willing to pay. One thing you might check to see if your eligible to hunt any of the surrounding bases. I know Ft.Sill has some excellent bow hunting. Good luck..

It's not private land but there is plenty of good hunting.  Lake thunderbird has several places to hunt. It gets less crowded as the season moves on. You have to get a vehicle permit to hunt there at one of the ranger stations.  I have hunted Lexington for years ,since 1983 when I first got to  Tinker.  I have taken several Deer and turkey off it.  Bow season is the best time to go after the mad rush in the woods the deer tend to hold to the private land near by.
