Fished Lacygne last saturday.  Landed about 5 small ones in a cove by the hotwater outlet on a weightless fluke.  Looked like a lot of other boats were keying on points most likely throwing jigs.

Being a hot water lake is there a lot of grass or vegetation in it?

Not as much vegetation as you'd think.  There are some good weed beds directly down from the hot water outlet but that's about it.  The lake is mostly rip rap on the lower end towards the dam and on the upper end is mostly cutbanks with overhanging trees.

A buddy of mine fished La Cygne this weekend, here's what he had to say:

Had a good day at La Cygne yesterday, but it was an adventure getting there.  The road to get to the ramp by the bridge is under construction and closed so I had to find another route.  After many attempts going down wrong roads (about an hour) I finally got on the water.  Ended up catching around 15 white bass right off the bat.  I switched over to a crankbait and caught a few largemouths.  Then I switched over to a white senko and started cathing some better quality largemouths.  The bite was steady but slow.  Had to work the bait EXTREMELY slow.  The bites were fairly hard to detect too.  It kind of felt like your bait was hung up in some grass.  I ended up catching about 10 with the biggest being a little under 4 lbs.  I also caught one on a buzz bait right before I left.   A buzzbait bite in Kansas in November??  Hard to beat that.   As long as the weather holds up I'm going to try to go down there as much as possible.

Except for the road issues that sounds like a great trip to me. I guess you all better get all over that good fishing before it gets too cold :'( Thanks for keeping us posted cgs2004

Yes, I'm afriad the fishing is going down hill pretty quickly around here.  Its been amazingly warm weather for November though, unfortunatly the nights are still getting pretty low so the water temp is still going down quite a bit.  I'm guessing a couple more weeks of hitting it hard then hang it up for the season :'(

In between duck hunts been hitting my farm pond and have still been catching quite a few bass.  Havent fished an actual lake in a while but I would imagine it is getting pretty tough.  Never hurts to give it a try though.   ~c~
