I have another dumb question.  when spooling a baitcaster, how much tension do you put on the line when spooling it in.  How tight is it supposed to be spooled?

I use a Berkley spooling station and set the tension about the same as what index and thumb presser would be.

I too use the berkely spooling station, I tighten down the spring tenstioners as hard as I can, plus I run the line through a gloved hand, not only to increase the tension on the line as hard as I can but to feel if any line anomolies get snagged on the glove material.  I use Braid so I want that line on there as tight as I can get it, offers less chance for the line to dig in if the line on the reel is tight and firm.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.
