The local Skeeter importer nearby, has made a big fuss on our fishing club website about them, but for the money, I reckon IMO it's a bit hard to justify the cost. From what I've read, it's only good to eight feet (happy to be corrected!) which makes it limited to fishing shallow water like gently sloping banks. My idea would be to buy a cheap folding anchor and you could fish as deep a water as you liked. Other than, use your electric motor to hold you over fish. We do that a lot in Australia. Not sure if you guys do it much in the U.S.

correct on the 8', here in Florida they are great for the shallow lakes we have, and yes they are pricey.
