Try this site out for Crankbaits..
http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/crankbait_making.html

If you look at the bottom of the page you will see other tips and methods to make other baits and make touches to old baits.

This is a great site for ideas and tips.

See the poor mans plastic molding kit! http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html

If you don't want to make from scratch you can go to these sites and buy the bodies and paint them and place rings and hooks yourself.

One 5 pack is 5.65 or a 5 5-packs are $26.55...save some decent money if you want to paint yourself.

I haven't used any of these sites or methods but have had these bookmarked and think about this all the time.

Mold site:http://www.staminainc.com/

Hit me up if you decide you want to try any of these, I'm down to go in on it with ya bro!

A friend of mine in Texas has been expermenting with modifying crank and jerk baits.  He was recently written up in one of the local papers.  His secret to success is to sand down jerk baits until they are almost transparent.  He then hand paints them.  Says it really improves the action of the lure and the loudness of the rattles.

Email me affiliatedappraisers @ msn.com (remove the spaces) and I will forward you the article.
