Shimano Sustain Problem

Whats up guys...i think i might have a problem with a reel i just got......i found one of the new shimano sustain reel at a garage sale and couldnt pass up the deal.....the only problem is that when i turn the crank every time it gets to just past facing down it almost feels like its grinding.....i thought there was a problem with it but when i was at work yesterday i started playing with one that we had in the display case and it felt the same way and so did another one that was there so it this normal?  or should i send it out for repairs?

I do not work on spinning reels very often, but this sounds like a bearing problem. It's strange that brand new ones are doing it as well. A call to shimano might be in order to see what they say?
