What do you do if you have a reel that is still loose in the seat of a rod when its tightened all the way down?  Anyone know of an insert or something that you can put in there to move the seat out?

Blake you can try shimming it with a thin piece of carboard that has worked for me in the past when I had a similar problem.

You know I have one that is the same way.How about meybe a thin wood shim to tighten it up .Something that would not rot or deteriate away.

I've always used plastic milk bottle. Trace the foot and pile up the shims to the thickness you need. Won't hold water, won't compress when wet
