Walleye are hitting on leeches and crawlers and some of the best spots have been the humps east of Brule Narrows. Walleye are also being caught west of the Brule in Black Bay and Sand Bay. Large pike are hitting on minnows in Cranberry and Lost Bay and Crappie are being caught in Black Bay. Smallmouth bass have been more active in Canadian waters,

Rainy River walleye are fairly active, just below the dam at International Falls and near the confluence of the Littlefork River have been good spots. Water levels fluctuate, but are generally high, making it tough to locate smallmouth bass, but they are being caught on the weedy edges of more shallow areas. The best sturgeon reports have been from just below the dam.
