Had the chance to fish from a boat on 6/14/08 with a good friend of mine yesterday..

We looked at the weather and decided on just a short trip to the pit's west of Crosby mn it started out to be a bad day but we finely found the smallies holding up in the heavy timber and in 7-26 feet of water useing a green buzz bait tipped with a green/brown power bait tail we went to work hitting the heavy timber and came up with more then one of these bad boys ..

yes it's measured with with it's tail pinched and it's mouth closed it came in at whooping 18.5" smaiilie ....

From what I hear - the crappie fishing is also outstanding in those pits.  Real pretty smallie - bet that fish put a hurtin on the bait - what was used?
