Hey everybody my name is Ryan and I must say I am very excited to be able to be a part in the nitro forum.  I just bought a 2000 nx750 with a mercury 115.  I was wondering if someone could help me out with a little problem.  The boat had been sitting out in the sun without a cover for a little over six months and some of the paint has a white haze on it kind of looks faded is there anything i can do about it.  Once again i have very happy to be a nitro brother. :)

welcome to the forum and congrats on the new boat. What your boat sounds like it has is oxidation. I think the only way to help is to wet sand the boat and apply a good coat of 3m wax. I know I have read a forum that had a much more detailed instructions on how to wet sand the boat however this will not completely cure the problem it will just be a temporary fix and you will have to do it again. Hope this helps so one that knows a little more than me should be along in a few.

Welcome wooddreaux and congrats on the new boat!

Dan is right. I had the same issue on my old Stratos and the best results I got was lightly wet-sanding it with 1200 to 1500 grit and soapy water. I followed this up with a good rub down with 3m polish followed by a good wax coat. You would not believe the difference :shocking:! The only draw back is you will need to keep a good coat of wax on it to maintain the shine because once oxidation starts there is no going back without spraying a new gel coat on it. A good protectant like Bass Boat Saver applied after every trip will help a lot. That is all I've used on the Legend since I got it.
