What did I tell ya about these lures, AJ? My first Rattler bass was a 6+ lbr. Caught on the purple/chartreuse. Can't wait to hear about your 6" minnow bass and swimbait bass.  lo Those minnows are hard to beat. They have become my "go to" bait.  ~cf

There are several hooking methods. TX rigged weightless or with a bullet weight; Use a ewg hook with a hitchiker (frog hook works real well); keeper hooks work pretty good, but I found I lost more minnows when I hooked up on a fish with these. I'll try to get you some PICS and PM them to you. Be sure to get yourself some Mend-It from our store as it will save you money on your plastics. I have been able to get more mileage out of plastics using this product. It won't stick to you, but chemically bonds the plastic back together. Hook size I use is either a 4/0 or 5/0 EWG. I can't sing the praises on the lures enough. Since I started fishing them I have caught more and better quality fish, which most, I have shown here in catch of the day. What colors did you get as I have had most of my luck on the Shad and Blue Smoke colors. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Congrats AJ! ~c~
Now you see the power of BIG baits. It's tough for a lot of people to throw anything over 6", because most of them think it's "too big". Trust me, I have fished all of the El Grande Lures, and not one of them is "too big". I don't think Jay will ever make a lure too big for bass lo. If you're a believer of big baits now, check out the new Boa, man. I can't wait to toss this thing around tomorrow! Of course Jay, being the great guy he is, will re-pour these Boas for you if they ever break! Talk about a deal. ~shade

Wish I could have posted this sooner but I just got back from Ireland. I fished a tournament the day I left the country and had a rough day. We were fishing the Potomac river in MD which is really hit and miss for me. My non-boater had picked up two really nice fish first thing and then it just seem to stop. We decided to make a move to alittle bit thicker grass. I then decided to tie on an El Grande Rana Toro. I was on the edge of the extreamly thick grass bad about 25 yards off shore. Made the first cast getting the Rana Toro just to the shore line edge and what a response. As soon as I twiched it, the first fish blew up on it.  I set to fast and missed it. For the next 45 minutes of tournament fishing time, I was able to land 3 fish off this same tactic. One fish hit the lure three different times before he took it. Had I had alittle more time, I think I might have been able to get a limit. Thanks El Grande

And for those that are saying "any frog would have done that". My rider was fishing a Horny Toad and wasonly able to get one short fish to take the bait. He looked at the profile of the lure and loved it. He was told where he could pick this lure up as was about 10 other people. I didn't win the tourny but I didn't go to the scales empty handed.

i thought the same thing when i hooked up with a 2.5lb spot on West Point Lake during the BWS Ga division.  I won the tourney!  My buddy Jeff had the same thing happen, he took second!
