Dear Members,
Once again we would like to thank the club and it's members for the support in regards to the Shielded Waters fishing program. The generous donations of the boxes of tackle given over the winter meetings have been broken down into individual tackle boxes to be given out to participants who excell. The quality of the tackle donated was most impressive.
On Tuesday, May 19, we are kicking the program off at the Granite City Township building located at 2060 Delmar (behind City Hall) at 7:00Pm to 9:00PM. Outside will be banners for "Shielded Waters" as well as a banner for "Steel City Bassmasters" approved by Larry. Bass Boats, fire trucks, police cars, and an IDNR Trailor will be stationed outside for spectators. Any member interested in jumping in during this first session would be most appreciated and welcomed, while assisting in any capacity they desire. All members will be formally introduced to the audience, kids, parents, etc... and are encouraged to sport their tournament wear for pictures with the media. Although this program is police sponsored, the promotion and professionalism of Steel City remains first and foremost.
The two hour session will move rather fast with a representative from IDNR beginnning with a 40 minute presentation to the group and audience, followed by a few introductory demo's involving casting and knot tying by anyone interested to instruct (flip cast into a bucket). , and finally wrapped up with a raffle of door prizes.
Any ideas, tips or tricks that you think may fit this into this session, please let us know.
Food and drinks will be on hand at the hall as well as an "appreciation gathering" afterwards at a local establishment....(open tab) ~shhh
Please feel free to call  or contact any of us below, and thanks for reading!
See ya in Vandalia!!
