Our September meeting will be tonight September 2, at 7 pm. We have a lot to discuss. Any rule changes, lakes, and all other business will be discuseed tonight and voted on at the October meeting. If you have any suggestions on any of the above topics tonight is the night to get them out so we can put them on the books to be voted on at the next meeting. We also need to lock everything in place for next years UBCS. We have to talk about door prizes and the Saturday night meal.

Got some things ironed out at this past meeting. We know what we gonna cook for the UBCS. We also discussed the door prizes. I think for the most part the we got everything covered for the UBCS. Now for our club's rules/bi laws, a couple of motions were brought and put on the books for a vote, which will take place at the October meeting. The first motion was to have an end of the year tournament for the top ten anglers. There would be no entry fee and the club would pay  the winner take all prize money. (the prize money would be a percentage of the club's funds up to but not to exceed $200). Also the lake that would be fished for this tournament would be drawn from the lakes fished that year. The angler of the year will be the person to draw the lake. The tournament would be held in August.

The next item we motioned in was how we handled who fishes for point. The big discussion here was do we make everyone weigh in for points even if they are not interested in fishing for the angler of the year. Basically what has happened in the past is most if not everyone knows if you can't fish 6 tournaments there is no way you will make the top 6 standings. Some people would weigh in for the points in one tournament and then not in another. This discussion could go on for ever and would take me for ever to type out so I'll just get to what we decided to put up for vote. Basically when you join and do your paper work for that year you will check off wether you want to fish for points or not. If you say you are fishing for points then you must weigh in for points every tournament you fish. If you elect not to fish for points then you can not weigh in for points in any tournament.

That was pretty much it on the changes. We will vote on them at the next meeting.
Now for the lakes we chose to put up for vote:

Toledo Bend, Calcasieu River, Cotile, Sabine River, Indian Creek, Kincaid, Mermentau River.

What we will do at the next meeting is go by each month and vote a lake in for that month. The lakes will have to come from the list above. There is no limit to the number of times a lake can be voted in. Example: we could fish the Calcasieu 3 times if it is voted in on three diffrent months.

The last thing we discussed was my stepping down from President. We will elect a new President in October. I figured it was time to give someone else a shot at running this thing not to mention I need a break. lo
