178V

[Pro-Gator]

Hi all,
Found this site after researching Pro-Gator boats, seems I've won a raffle for a 178V from the ALBC orginazation and get to fish one of Louisiana's finest products! Y'all have any comments on this rig? Honestly, I've never heard of this brand, but it appears to be a solid player. Have been fishing with a  '95 Ranger R-70 w/125 Merc. as the second owner for about three years now and loved it. I'll get to pick it up this coming week-end and have been speaking with the owners at the factory, they've been more than helpful, any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I have a 1999 ProGator 170DV & the only thing I do not like is the fact that I have outgrown a 17ft boat...that is no fault of the boat itself.

The boat has held up great. 11 years old & I am just now having carpet & upholstery problems. As far as ride goes, it is probably the smoothest or one of the smoothest small boats I have been in. The paint and clearcoat has held up well also...I wipe it down after every trip but it still looks almost like new!

You should have no problems with the Pro Gator...I cannot compare it to your Ranger as I have  never had one or been in one more than a couple of times.

Leroy Moore builds a good boat and I seriously looked at them when I was in the market. Congrats on the win!

All I know is that my buddy has a a custom built pro gator and it is one of the best boats i've ever been in !!!

I've got a good feeling so far and when I pick her up I'll shoot some pic's to post! And,  bassadict69, that Ranger is a '95 17'8", it's well made, rides great and if I can convince the wife, I'd like to keep it for my son's. Though there 6 & 9 right now! But I think the Gator might be just as well built from talking to Lorraine. I'll let y'all know...

Bought a 178V last year.  Had a Pro-Gator Solution before (1979 model with 115hp).  The solution is still solid after 30 years.  Gave it to my son.
Love the 178V.  Rides and fishes great.  The Moores are great folks and build a really good boat.
