:)Larry,My younger son Scott and I just arrived back from a very productive trip to Lake El Salto. Thanks for arranging everything for us. We arrived on Thursday in time to pay a little extra to fish the afternoon which I'm glad we did. Not only did we catch 62 bass up to 6 lbs., but Scott mastered Texas rigged lizard fishing that afternoon. After margaritas and a nice dinner, we hit the hay and were awakened at 5 am by Ramon carrying coffee and juice. Awesome! We had a nice breakfast of bacon and eggs and headed to the lake. We caught a few, then found a school on a flat near where my Dad andI caught them in December. The lake was 15 feet shallower than it was in December, Larry. It didn't even look like the same lake! We ended up catching 102 bass that morning in that school up to 4 and half pounds--most of them over 2 and half pounds. There was a 40 minute span where Scott and I caught a bass on every cast! Oscar was standing in the middle of the boat just taking off fish after fish! Scott even caught 2 on one Rattle-Trap!! Scott used a blue and silver bleeding shad Rattle-Trap and I used a grey one with orange eyes that resembled a talapia. They were pounding them! Those fish were so aggressive that you didn't know the size of your fish until you saw it! That afternoon we decided to fish the same area, but they had moved to deeper water. It was pretty warm in the afternoons. We worked a nearby tree line and I cast a teal and silver Rattle-Trap near a big tree. I instantly got hung up (I thought). The line started to peel off my reel and I soon landed my 9. Twenty minutes later Scott caught his 10 on a green lizard about 20 yards from where I had just caught my big fish. We ended up catching 162 fish that day!! Saturday was a little slower, but still a great day. We caught alot of fish on Rattle-Traps that day on another flat closer to where the river feeds into the lake. We fished right where the river comes in also and it was very productive...alot of schooling fish up to 4 pounds. Also caught a catfish! Oscar had a "honey hole" on a point on the river which we fished everyday in the evenings. We used green lizards and white sinkos. Not alot of numbers there, but every fish over 3 pounds. We caught several 6's, 5's, and plenty of3's and 4's. The fish seemed to be coming up from the river in the afternoons to feed and then moved back to deeper water. As long as you were patient, you caught fish. Sunday was another excellent day as well. We fished all of the above places and caught fish. My last cast of the day produced a six pounder which was desparately needed as Scott already had the 4 biggest fish of the day--all in the lower 5 pound range!! Just an excellent trip...450-plus fish...great weather...great food and lodging. Can't wait til next time!!Mike
