While at Talquin my Merc EFI 200 had an alarm start going off. Yesterday it was 4 beeps but the engine still ran fine and got me back to the slip. This morning it had 4 beeps once and no more until the engine went from 60 mph to idle and a solid alarm (half way to the iron curtain).  ~rant
2 hours trolling back, packed up everything, and drove back to Hurbie.  ~xyz Not exactly the weekend I was looking for.
From what I read in the manual, it'll need to be hooked up to a diagnostic computer to find out what the problem is (a solid alarm can be 1 of 15 different things!).
Mercury' website shows 4 outboard service centers in the area: Panhandle Marine, Gulf Coast Boating Center, BPS, & Legendary Marine.

Any suggestions or experiences with these shops or any others in the area?

Thanks

Jay,

L & L Marine in Defuniak Springs also services Mercurys.  They did a good job for me and also repaired my trolling motors.

Ended up going to BPS. Tim and the guys treated me right. The problem turned out to be the oil tank level sensor. I guess after a certain number of 4-beep alarms for that sensor, the computer decides to shut the engine back to idle.
Part won't arrive until Monday, so Seminole is out this weekend...
Maybe I'll just fish some small water... Anyplace biting good right now?

That's great.  I believe that's what I told you Friday when I looked it up on the web.  Should be an easy fix though.  Get r' back on the water soon.
